Just wondering when it stopped being pronounced as the ‘new-camp’ and became camp-now’?

About the same time as Terry 'Enree became Thierry Henry

I was laughing at the commentary, “messi really shouldn’t be scoring from there”… I’m not exactly sure what Allison could have done differently ! It was simply a stunning free-kick.

That's exactly what I thought about that comment. There's not a keeper on the planet could have got to that, it was so perfectly placed

Thought starting Wijnaldum in place of Firmino showed up Klopps lack of confidence in Origi, Sturridge, Shaq etc. I wonder if they’ll look for another forward in the summer to rotate a bit more.

Barca will struggle to cope next week given the unique atmosphere, famous Euro night etc etc. Scousers to win 4-0. Andy Cole was an out and out striker at NUFC then his link up play improved dramatically at OT. Very few if any penalties too.

Too much to do I think. Be different maybe if Salah had made it 3-1.

You're not coming back from 3 down to Barca no matter how much self-mythologising you want to do 😉

Well the race not to finish third or fourth is hotting up. Spurs down to nine men and very, very lucky it’s not eight. Dier should have been off too.

On present form I fully expect us to draw with Huddersfield, Chelski get nowt, or a point, from the Watford game and Arsenal to lose to Brighton

All incidental, of course. It’s going to be interesting to see how Liverpool do tonight against Rafa. And Leicester won’t be an easy game for City either

I think if the tie between Liverpool and Barca had been closer, there was a chance the could have concentrated on that and slipped up against Newcastle, as things stand I don't really see that happening now.

I don't really know why everyone thought Bury was the toughest challenge before the end of the season last weekend, I always thought Leicester was the real last hurdle, still without a midweek game, I expect city to win but it is still a potential banana skin.

3rd to 6th god knows what is happening, it has just gone crazy.

Pressure is on spurs now, last game of the season against an on form Everton is very losable.

I can see them losing to Everton but it not really counting for anything as everyone else drops points too. That seems to be how it's going. 3rd and 4th spots going to the 2 squads who are slightly less rubbish and can just about be bothered to actually turn up

Difficult to see anything other than the same two-horse race next season, so far off the pace are everyone else. In fact, carry on playing like they've finished this season and they're going to be looking over their shoulders to Wolves, Everton and Leicester

It would actually be good binners for the top 6 club to be challenged. Depends how much money Chelsea and Man U chuck about as to whether they’ll get near Liverpool and City.

What a finish that was!

This is a blinder of a game!

Don’t think the Liverpool defence has looked so rattled this season (Messi excepted, obviously)

No finger nails left. Good of Rafa to give us a goal start. 🙂
Wonder if Jurgen fancies a cheeky bid for Rondon?

A good stat for you as he’s starting for a rare a rare time today

Sanchez has cost us 5.6 million quid per goal 😳

I’m guessing Messi’s 600 for Barca average out a bit cheaper

Utd were truly awful today. Gutless, classless, clueless.

In fact they were so bad I wonder if some of the players have a valuation clause in their contract that depends on whether Utd are in the CL. Easier to leave if it costs your new club £30m less isn't it.

There isn't a single player I'd be sad to see the back of. Except maybe Rashford, McTominay, DeGea and...well that's it really.

It’s absolutely unbelievable how bad we are! Another pathetic, half-arsed, spineless, gutless performance, with everyone just casually jogging about like they’re having a nice kickabout on the park. You were playing for a champions league place you gang of overpayed, bone idle *s!!!

We need to get shut of the *ing lot of them and start from scratch! Not one of them is fit to wear the shirt

Edit: Ashley Young - Club captain - just said “I can’t fault the effort or the attitude...”

WTF?!!!! I think you’re on your own there you delusional donkey! You were playing Huddersfield, not Barcelona, and you couldn’t manage 3 points, FFS!!

The problem isn’t the manager. The problem is the whole culture of the ownership and management of the club, which is clearly not fit for purpose

The latest nonsense is that they’re supposedly bringing Rio Ferdinand in as technical director? WTF? Seriously?!

Absolutely clueless!

He did for a bit but then it’s back to business as usual- hard to disagree with Keanes comment that these players will thrown any manager under the bus.

The running of Chong and McTominay showed what labels of effort are required but the majority just CBA.

Binners- I agree completely. Apparently Ed gave Martial a contract for £250k/week but they’ve only offered Rashford £200k. No rhyme or reason to anything.

I’ve been thinking about the last truly good signing they made and it was Van Persie. No signing since has done anything.

On present form I fully expect us to draw with Huddersfield,

called it...

i just looked up Huddersfield's recent stats. In their preceding 4 games, they conceded an average of 3.75 goals per game. They hadn't picked up a single point since February. Fair play to Utd, they really are finding new ways to bollocks it up!

Gary Neville seems to have got it nailed for the last few games. His comments today...

"Nothing about this United team I like at all. They're just awful. They're a despondent group of people."

"Solskjaer is smiling at them, they're that bad. Look at them. Just awful. This isn't a team at all."

When the English speaking commentators realised that calling it New Camp was in fact incorrect. It’s always been Camp Nou, only the English speaking commentators were too dumb / too patronising to realise it. It’s a bit like Park Goodson, Trafford Old or Road Elland.

...speaking of which, trust us to finish the regular season on a whimper, against the worst team in the championship.
Bodes well for the playoffs.

Frank-Lampards-Derby-County up next. Ok we beat them home & away, with or without the supposed advantage of watching them train, during the season, but they’re coming off a win against WBA, one of the highest scoring teams in the division. They’ll be well fired up for it.

Leeds ‘doing a Leeds’ again?

Speaking of which #Emeryout is presently trending on Twitter. Relax folks... that’s the next 15 years of callers to 606 taken care of with Arsenal fans returning to their favourite topic. Getting shut of their manager 😂

I think Emery has done ok to be fair. Not much money spent and a squad in decline, to maintain contact with the top 6 was a decent start. Win the Europa League and they’ll get in the Champions League. Sarri too has got top four although his job looks tough next year, if he’s kept on, when Hazard leaves and (hopefully) the transfer ban is upheld.

United though...so was the winning run when Ole took over just the usual new manager bounce? Woodward just can’t get it right can he? Caved to the pressure in giving him the job, why not wait until the end of the season to decide? The rebuilding job is so huge it needs a more experienced manager in my opinion.

Well at least he has managed a full season, which is more than Moyes did when replacing Ferguson, despite the united fans constantly prattling on about how they give managers time.

God I am nervous for tonight, I am even contemplating not watching, unless we get a couple of goals early on, I just won't enjoy it. Win tonight and I think that's it, Liverpool's final day is tougher than ours, but it is a real test tonight.

Both teams are playing reasonably well just no breakthrough yet, city still dominating largely, even though Leicester hold the ball so well themselves. The main nervousness is the stadium atmosphere, and it was right from the start.

Wolves in Europe!! Who’d have thought it? Waited 40 years, honestly never thought it would happen in my lifetime. Really pleased for City, just edged it over Liverpool. Should be a great game at Anfield anyhow. (Edit); all dependant on City beating Watford in the FA Cup. Forgot that little detail!

An ex-player pundit tyoe put it really well - an interim managers job is to keep the players happy, a permanent managers job is to be kept happy by the players. This bunch are happy with the former and utterly opposed to the latter.

City’s defence has won them the league over the past dozen or so games as the goals have dried up. What a hit by Kompany!

Its a sign of the level that both City and Liverpool are playing at that a team can go into the final game of the season on 94 points, win, and yet still not take the title

That is absolutely insane! I can't see anything else other than a two horse race with those two for the next few seasons. They're on a totally different level to everyone else

I for one am stunned that Chelsea have got into the CL! Given the paucity of quality in the football played this season it’s incredible & really only possible due to how bad Arsenal & particularly Utd have been.

One thing that is clear to me as a city fan, is that this is a golden moment, these few seasons are likely to be the best football I will ever witness my team playing. I expect pep to leave at the end of his current contract. I hope he might be persuaded to stay on a couple more years but I don't honestly think he will.

Pep is clearly a special manager, and it would be virtually impossible to replace him, so I fully expect a dip in form when he leaves, hopefully not a collapse, but I doubt we will ever be as good again. But, maybe we could tempt Klopp at that point 😉

Me too and I'm a season ticket holder (MHL) and have been to my fair share of away games this season (Wolves, Brighton, Liverpool, ManUre, Burnley, Spurs).

We'll take it though.

one of the football shows was saying the same - 97 points would have won the title most years

I can’t see anything else other than a two horse race with those two for the next few seasons. They’re on a totally different level to everyone else

Here's where they differed. Liverpool have absolutely hit their straps this year but are still some way below City's level in reality. Last night you knew City would find a way in the end, Liverpool are like crossing a wobbly bridge, thrilling but you sense they could fall off at any moment. Van Dijk has clearly made a huge difference but even then you wouldn't put your house on them winning any particular game (but they do, somehow), whereas City, you absolutely would.

And so to make 97 points and still not win - I just can't see them repeating that sort of tally. Yet you look at City's total and you sense that's the sort of number you'll need in the next few years to even run them close. They did 100 points last year, barring a miracle 98 this year........

Leicester won it with 81, fwiw. And were 10 points clear. Liverpool blew it when Gerrard stepped on the ball in 2014 and fell two short with 84. That's how far ahead City are, and Liverpool even being close is an anomaly. A fabulous, nerve shredding one, but all the same.

Good points Jon - Liverpool and the rest will have to hope City’s level declines a bit. Remember they’ve hardly had de Bruyne to call on this season! That said there are some areas of transition that they’ll need to address - Aguero, D Silva and Fernandinho, someone to partner Laporte too longer term, maybe a new right back.
