We won, but we played atrociously. Some moments of magic but with the team we have we shouldn’t be 3-1 down to Huddersfield!

This 'fine run of home form' is covering up some pretty poor performances. We tried to gift Fulham a 3 goal lead before starting to play and even then we weren't great - Fulham looked completely toothless. More of the same when Newcastle visited. Thankfully I didn't go to Palace, Cardiff or Wolves.

As for Huddersfield, as exciting as it was and we must have had 80% possession, we scored from 4 set pieces (I think)... the last goal from open play I remember was Rice's goal against Arsenal in January.

3 new strikers, a backup right back and a replacement for Noble in the middle needed in the summer.

So city for the cup then, if you can’t bend the rules on buying players just spend it on the ref’s

Seriously!??!

Mikewsmith ... do you only sing when you are winning?
When ManYoo has more cash than anyone else it was never a problem ...

We looked nackered today. Totally outplayed by Wolves, who were brilliant and deserved the win. The way they’re playing at the moment I genuinely think they could win the FA Cup this season. They’re a quality side

I never though I would see the day that Mr West Ham would need replacing but we are definitely there. I’m hearing we have a decent budget for the summer window.

Thankfully I didn’t go to Palace, Cardiff or Wolves.

Probably for the best hey 😉

He'll still do a job and run himself into the ground... unfortunately that now happens after an hour rather than 90 mins. We looked a lot better when he was replaced by Nasri yesterday.

Not sure who you think I'm supporting here, just makinng sarcastic comments about the state of FFP and lack of VAR at swansea 🙂

Only drawing this weekend for our lot but a much better performance away from home

City obviously the favourites but would love Wolves to win it if they can get past Watford...

After yesterday’s performance and seeing how well they’ve played recently, I’ve had a punt on Wolves

Wolves v Watford should be a cracking game!

Anyone watching Chelski? They were all over Everton first half but didn’t score. They’re now getting battered by them second half 😂

To quote the old cliche: a proper ‘game of two halves’. Everton didn’t turn up for the first 45, then they’re two up

I bloody hate the international break! Its invariably when your in-form striker pulls up with a hamstring injury, half way through some meaningless friendly that'll keep him out for the rest of the season

Or they do what their club bosses tell them and turn up with a torn fingernail requiring r and r during the international break to be in peak condition for the first match directly after. See Trent A-A, Rashford, Sterling this week..... Fergie was a master of it!

Great video of having the ref's on mic for the game down in Oz, would be great to here in the PL though might need the old 3s delay

Fergie was indeed the master of the phantom injury, with subsequent miraculous recovery in time for the next premiership game

But there was a very good reason for that. You have to put that in the context of the frankly disgusting way that both Becks and Neville were hung out to dry by Engerland, where the philosophy at OT was one, quite justifiably IMHO, of * the FA and * Engerland.

Scholes made it quite clear, with his early International retirement, he wanted nothing more to do with the national squad after that circus

So predictions?

How many under 21's to score?

England win for me and I think some really solid performances with the number of good players around

what bollocks Hoddle talks.....doesn't think it's a penalty because Sterling's not going to get there. So any off the ball foul doesn't count because the player wasn't about to win the ball?

He was absolutely and illegally sandwiched by two defenders stepping into his path. Clear pen.

Yep, is t here somebody who can sign hoddle off for a bit longer!!

Nice and patient for England, finding their feet a little again but coming into it well, it's very nice to not be worrying too much when somebody goes off as there are 2 or 3 behind to fill the gap

A lot of the older pundits still live in their day, that would be been the case when Hoddle was playing.

Being fouled going away from goal in the box wasn't a penalty when I was playing!.

Yeah the summing up at half time sums it up, neither completely fouled him but they did together.

Think I said it above somewhere, they need to show some of these things to players, managers and pundits each month to remind them what is what.

\devils advocate on that one I'd say they are probably working on the advice of lawyers in terms of not singing a lot of cash - it will have a bearing on who's insurance covers it too.
In many ways I would have thought they could have sat down behind closed doors and sorted it out though.

As for England woken up a bit!!

It is indeed an amazing piece of construction.I cycle past it quite regularly and they still hadn't finished the exterior cladding on the south side a week ago!The glass bar looks mental - seen a couple of vids from a bloke who did some work there.

Now Real can come in and swap Poch/Ericsson for Bale and 200m ... LOL ... joke

It would have to be a whole lot more for Poch.

As a City fan United appointing this guy makes me worry less about them as a long term rival than if they had appointed someone like Poch. United's managers since Ferguson make an interesting study.

Moyes was a manager in Fergie's own image but he was left a declining team and had a hard act to follow. I think he still has something to offer the English game though.

LVG was technically a very good coach but maybe past his best when appointed and was too cautious.

Mourinho had a good record but was too egotistical as should have been evident from his tenures at RM and Chelsea last time round.

OGS prodigal son returning but anyone who was positive and enthusiastic should have been able to get a tune out of United's players once the gloom of the Special One's reign was lifted. I do not see him being able to compete with the likes of Pep and Poch. If he is still manager at in two years time I will be surprised.

Kind of agree with you Cletus and as a fan of ABU I’d prefer him over Poch. I think they will struggle a bit when teams sit in like Wolves did recently and they’re unable to counter attack. The summer transfer window will be revealing in this respect - reckon they could do with a creative midfielder. Few rumours about that Pogba fancies a move too.

A very harsh ending for Spurs there, but as always seems to be the way titles are won in the minutes after the 90, it's about how deep you can dig some days.
The City Spurs triple bill should be interesting and pivotal to the title

Lucky for Liverpool there, both this game and the Everton game, tight games, but won by very fortunate goals.

Stuffy escape there for the scousers, but not half as stuffy as Chelski! Good match though, and now we’re, somewhat unbelievably, level with Spurs on points

Cardiff were absolutely robbed there! Has Neil Warnock exploded yet? He had every right too. As blatant an offside as you’ll ever see to get Chelski back in the game at the death.

Going to be one hell of a scrap for the title. Neither can afford to drop a point

An absolute shocker of an own goal. I love the OGs when a defender tries to put it behind and ends up placing it perfectly into the top corner in a ‘shot’ that any world class striker would be happy with, but when they just bounce off them and pathetically dribble over the line?

To watch Salah you’d think he’d just scored the winner in the World Cup

Well he’s never going to win the World Cup is he? 90th minute winner in a tight title race - it’s not going to be a firm handshake is it!?!

Did anyone else see MOTD2 highlights just now? Member of Klopp’s staff hugged him after goal - and had clearly wet/shat himself!

I did look at that and think ‘has he just pissed himself?’

Watching the Chelski games, that has to be a contender for the worst refereeing I’ve ever seen.

Two straight reds, two penalties, both waved away, and then a goal allowed that was a mile offside. That match makes all the argument you’ll ever need for VAR.

Ah a little bump back down to earth for Newcastle, Arsenal were certainly everywhere we tried to put the ball and even with a bit of help from the ref it was going to be a step too far 🙂

Last 2 CL spots look like a big fight from here on in, arsenal have too many away from home to be comfortable, Chelsea could do anything, United have to do something against city and spurs will be all about how they take to the new house.

With the 5 live guys from earlier though Spurs have the most to loose there.

Good match last night, even if we lost. Wolves are a cracking team to watch. They're so bloody quick on the break, and really organised at the back. It'll be interesting to see what they do next season if they keep all their players. They could very well be mixing it with the top four. I've had a bet on them winning the FA Cup. I really think they could do it.

No complaints about the red. I don't know what Ashley Young was thinnking. You just can't go in studs up like that. Its just asking to be sent off.

Pochettino was right the other night. Its a 4 team mini-league for the other 2 champions league spots. It makes for an interesting subplot to City and Liverpool scrap for the title. I never thought we'd be involved in it before Ole turned up

If the area around the stadium is cleansed of poor families, who's kids will guard your car and make sure it doesn't get damaged during the match?

For a reasonable price, that is definitely not extortion, honest.

Indeed. Looking forward to Wolves v Watford tomorrow. Should be a cracking game. I still think Wolves can win the FA cup. They play some quality football.

I stuck a fiver on it anyway, which is usually the kiss of death. They’ll probably lose 7-0 tomorrow now

Well Arsenal never turned up today. Well beaten.

Watching the semi-final and seeing all those empty corporate seats boils my piss! Whoever has paid for them (probably as a tax write off) can’t even be bothered to turn up to watch the match. Just loose change to them, I suppose. Meanwhile there are genuine fans who’d kill for what are the best seats in the house

It stands as a comment not only on money-obsessed English football, but also on society right now. It’s embarrassing and depressing

I didn't think that was a penalty, no where near enough contact for him to go down (for a bully boy who shouts at people he really fouled to get up), but var is correct according to the rules, not a clear and obvious mistake so can't be overruled.
