Binners is currently stroking out on his living room floor shouting Maguire, Maguire, Maguire 😂
I think it will be Dave, Dave, Dave now!
Meanwhile West Ham are 4-1 up, including a brilliant solo goal from Rice.
They could’ve saved this performance for Sunday.
I'd make Brighton favourites - teams are often there for the taking after a European away game, especially with a performance as bad as that, Shaw seemed injured so may be out, leaving Maguire and Lindelof to continue their comedy double act, ably supported by De Gea. That performance was a throwback to the good old days of the end of Ole's regime.
Anyone seen @binners? Is he ok? That was a truly horrific performance last night, looked like a Sunday afternoon team playing down the local park 🤦
Mercifully, I didn't watch it. I was at a funeral and a wake yesterday so had my mind on other things.
Seems like I missed an absolute treat of Harry ****ing Maguire surpassing even his high standards of utterly hapless ineptitude. Hopefully thats the last time we'll see him in a United shirt.
He's suspended for Sunday, but given our injury list god only knows who'll be playing in defence? Phil Jones?
I suspect we're going to get an absolute shoeing off Brighton
Sounds like a rough day all round, perhaps as well you missed the game!
I think De Gea needs to shoulder half (at least) the blame for that first goal, what was he thinking!? Wan-Bissaka wide open, Maguire surrounded by players, passes to Maguire. WTAF. And the less said about the 3rd goal the better! But, that's really only picking the big bits of sh*t out of a massive sh*t sandwich, they were all utterly crap! 🙁
I suspect we’re going to get an absolute shoeing off Brighton
I have a feeling we'll stumble our way to victory on Sunday, then get handed our arse by Pep and his yeti in the final, probably 5-0.
Sorry to hear that.
But for non United fans it did provide a hearty giggle. I was building an indoor bike at the same time and the frustration of missing a vital part was offset by de Gea helping out his country men cheered me up.
Off to Coventry tomorrow for Reading's wake.
I thought Ten Hag would seek to move de Gea on - he is really poor with the ball at his feet, which seems at odds with how ETH wants to play out from the back. But he’s a superb shot stopper I guess and there are rumours he’s close to agreeing a new contract on reduced terms.
He passed to Maguire because Wan Bissaka is even worse.
Forty years ago hansen and lawrenson were accomplished ball playing centre halves - should be a basic skill.

Much as I love Dave, and he's smiling benevolently down at me as I type this...
...he doesn't fit in with how TH wants to play, but then neither do a lot of the present squad, particularly our defenders. Look what happened when we tried it. We got absolutely spanked by Brentford and Brighton!
Its going to be interesting to see if he stays. I think he's still the best out-and-out shot stopper in the league and we certainly wouldn't presently be in the top 4 without him this season. He is partial to the odd howler though. The question is who we'd get in to play the Alisson/Ederson role that TH clearly wants

Kepa 😀
Pickford
Kepa 😀
It would be just like the Glazers to pay 100 million for him as a parting gift
Has any got a stat of how many points De Gea has saved Utd over the past few seasons?
With out him they'd be finishing way lower down league - not just this season.
Theres a good reason he gets player of the season every year. The amount of games he's kept clean sheets, or at least kept us in it, despite having the wobbliest of wobbly defences in front of him...
Getting rid of Dave would be a huge call! He’s the only United player who’s been consistently good for the last 7-8 years and he’s rightfully loved by everyone for carrying a squad of donkeys for that time
He passed to Maguire because Wan Bissaka is even worse
There’s that and the fact that Maguire was screaming for the ball and for some utterly inexplicable reason he’s still the team captain. He’s got the spatial awareness of a blind pensioner and about the same authority
Forgot there was a premiership game on tonight. Interesting.....
Blimey Arsenal, making a pigs ear of this!
Is it time for Arteta to come out ahead of the Citeh game and say he’d love it if they beat them? 😂
Didn't think Arsenal would fall apart again like last season in the battle for fourth, but they're definitely showing themselves as being bottle merchants unfortunately, as was always thought, Man City's title to lose.
Bottle merchants? You’ve gone too soon there mate! 8 mins stoppage time…..
Football bloody hell etc
Wow, comeback time!! Can they win it?
Bottle merchants? You’ve gone too soon there mate! 8 mins stoppage time…..
All over, fought back to get a point against the team at the bottom of the table, still means the title is City's to lose now, Arsenal now have to count on others, or a win at the Etihad to win the title!
Yeah, they’re letting in too many goals now. Can’t see them getting anything but a hiding at City.
surely we can't blow it now...... and then weird shit happens

I think city are going to have to have 2 midweek games one week, they have more games than normal matchdays available. That still gives the gooners a sniff IMO. God knows how they organise that, maybe have to be Friday - Monday - Thursday - Sunday, but I wouldn't be surprised if the PL aren't even that flexible. but then they also need some flexibility in the games around them, and I bet RM and EUFA wouldn't swap between Tue and Wednesday fixtures to help out.
****ing illuminati conspiring against us by faking the queens death.
UEFA never change times unless there's been something big happening (natural disaster or so on), they can move fixtures if teams from the same City are involved in different matches, but television rights rule.
As for Arsenal, they're repeating last year, it's all down to the midfield for me, Partey has gone off form big style, Xhaka was out, so they were a bit soft in the middle, Jesus is just not in form either, his touch isn't quite there and Saliba is a huge loss at the back.
It's the same thing for ManU, they lose a few players and it changes the team massively, Man City just don't seem to have that as much, as they rotate so often, when someone drops out there's always someone else coming in, and of course, Man City have won things many times with this squad, so they tend to get better in the run in.
I'd say also the second best team in the premiership is City's reserves.
I remember last season when De Bruyne was out for a while and you thought they'd really miss him, then after a couple of games you realised (somewhat depressingly) that it hadn't actually made the remotest difference. Its a testimony to how good Pep is that he manages those players who would be an automatic first choice in any other squad in the league who are sat on the bench
With us, Casamero was suspended and you looked at his potential replacement and realised there wasn't one as they're all rubbish. Same with our defence. Varane and Martinez out and just look what we're having to call on, with predictable results
Yeah but city have drop offs in some positions as well, Philips hasn't clicked yet so is a big drop off from Rodri, and we are playing with 4 centre backs because Pep doesn't trust the full backs. City doesn't really have a bigger squad than everyone else, it can just feel like that because of the way they are coached.

I absolutely agree. You haven't bought many duds. We've half a squad of them. Passengers who are frankly stealing a living, but are able to do so because the whole shambles has been so appallingly managed
Having watched the Man U - Everton game at OT last week, I can confirm that with the ball at his feet, De Gea makes Jordan Pickford look like Iniesta.
Indeed, with the ball at his feet Harry Maguire makes Jordan Pickford look like Iniesta.
Everton didn't (can't) make use of Pickfords' abilty to retain possession and build out from the back, he's obviously under instructions to launch it upfield aimlessly (something De Gea is actually rather good at).
As much as United fans like to take the p*** out of Pickford (and did for a bit), it was obvious to one and all that he'd be a better fit for United right now given the way they want to develop their play.
De Gea is a master at lofting really long, accurate balls for forwards to run onto when he spots a defence out of position. Route 1 football. He famously did it twice in quick succession at Anfield, under Maureen. Two long balls over the top, cutting out the midfield completely, through to Lukaku then to Rashford to both nod down and score
I rate Pickford. The chant the Liverpool fans sing at him is funny though
He can’t reach up to the crossbar
He can’t reach up to the crossbar
He can’t reach up to the crossbasaaaaaaar
He’s only got little arms
😂
Scenes in Wrecsam last night, had to listen to it on the BBC app while trying to be present at a kids bday party... Some mates nursing very sore heads this morning.
And thoughts and prayers with Rochdale fans ending a 102 year streak in the Football League.
Crap refereeing for that WBA penalty. Injury time as well.
Finally heard Mark Robins at Coventry get a mention as the miracle worker he is yesterday on Radio 5. The man has taken my team from lower end of League 2 up to having a small chance of a play off for promotion to the Premier League. All the while being forced to sell the best players to balance the books. I truly hope nobody like Leicester comes in for him at the end of the season.

I'm right on top of it, he gave us that to make up for the one he missed earlier. Ref is having a shit game.
Spuds one-nil down already 😂
Edit: make that 2-0
Blimey! Missed the first 5 minutes and turned it on to see Spuds are 2 down already 😂
I expect I'll look at the table later though and they'll somehow still be fourth
EDIT: 3 down 😳
5-0 after 20 minutes, Spursey 🤣
This is the funniest opening 20 minutes to a game I have ever seen! 😂
Spurs have had a whipping like this coming all season
That's not the emergency alert going off on your mobile, Antonio, it's the board of directors asking you to come back.
Spurs fans leaving after 20 minutes.
That’s a long old journey to watch your side ship 5 in 20 minutes, then leave and trudge back home 😂
[wanders back in thread again]
Raises arms, with a somewhat bemused look on face
[/wanders back out the thread]
Villa homing in on that European spot. Spurs don't deserve to be anywhere near it.
It couldn’t happen to a nicer team 🥔
West Aaaaaaaaam are handing out a shoeing too
I’m enjoying watching this as I doubt I’ll be deriving much pleasure from watching us later, while we’re talking about shonkey defences
Hugo has gone off injured, i believe he's strained his back picking the ball out the net so often 😂
FFS the first toon game I’ve missed in months. Went out on the bike cos I thought it was on at 4.30. 🤦♂️
Get ur lights charged, Thursday looks good for a night ride 😉

Is that Steve McLaren on the ManU bench??
Does he still have a Dutch accent?
Only when he’s speaking to Ten Hag
Not a bad match that. Our cobbled together defence did alright. Dave kept us in it again
Manchester Derby for the final 😃
First live game for a good while, helped remind me why I ride Saturday afternoons. A dire display against Coventry may be the final death knell for the once mighty Royals.
Leeds: we're the worst, most clueless team in the division.
Spurs: hold my beer.
Another cracking weekend for Leeds. I didn't even flinch when Fulham's goals went in - think I went to do the washing up or something. 2 (more) massive games next - Leicester and Bournemouth. And yet despite shipping 13 goals in 3 games, somehow, there are still 4 teams below us! Still pretty sure now we'll drop and would probably be for the best - change of ownership, change of manager, get rid of some of the utter rubbish Orta has brought in over the last few years and hopefully make some decent money on the few decent signings he's made. If by some miracle we stay up, still need a massive clear out and a manager here for the long term...
Apparently Spuds are about to sack their stand in manager, Cristian Stellini in order to appoint his assistant, Ryan Mason, until the end of the season. Lets see if whoever is then appointed Ryan Masons assistant, upon his promotion, will be in charge themselves by next week 😂
The lady who pushes the tea trolley at White Hart Lane has some interesting thoughts on how to execute a half-press defence, so this could work out for them eventually.
I imagine Conte may well have injured himself laughing so hard at that shambles yesterday.
Maybe he should have his parting words etched onto a plaque and installed on the wall outside Levy's office?
Its certainly worth revisiting in light of what has happened since he left

I'm with you here – I am resigned to us going down. It's no big deal, I'll still support them (ALAW). Hopefully our younger squad members could find themselves in the team in the Championship – Archie Gray scored a stunner at the weekend – it was almost Cantona/Maradona-esque! (he has only just turned 17 - the son of Andy Gray, the grandson of Frank Gray, and the grand-nephew of Eddie Gray, all of whom played for Leeds United and represented Scotland at international level).
(At about 2:10)

🤣🤣🤣🤣
Massive performance from West Ham (as they say.) Especially after a Thursday game. Coming into form at just the right time with the European polystyrene cup semi's coming up.
Hope they go all the way in that comp though, brings a bit of joy (look at Roma last season) to clubs who are mid table quality at best and pushing on next year will be difficult when Rice goes. I wouldn't be surprised in some big offers come in for Paqueta too, he came in for a bit of a bargain price last summer as the Jury was out on him.
Jury's in now...
Players to refund travelling fans apparently. I’d want bloody compensation!
Big night tonight across a few leagues, will try and follow the chaos on the radio
I’m watching the Fulham v Villa game which has started lively
My mate is a big Burnley fan and they’ve got Blackburn tonight at Ewood Park. It’s a proper grudge match and he’s just posted some pictures up of a lot of the Burnley fans wearing full chicken outfits like these

You’ve got to love football rivalries 😂
Popping on to say, as a spurs fan. LEVY, F OFF YOU UTTER F ING FOOL!
carry on.
Leeds Leicester's a good watch. Nothing beats the smell of desperation.
Villa up into fifth above Spurs now. The game started lively then became incredibly dull!
A point isn’t much use to Leeds or Leicester. It’s going to be one almighty scrap at the bottom to avoid the drop
What a miss by Bamford! That may have consequences…….
I don't even want to see the Bamford miss - just the way it was described in the minute-by-minute updates was painful enough.
A point isn’t much use to Leeds or Leicester.
I dunno. My take is that Southampton are doomed. 36 points should see you safe.
Every point counts.
What a miss by Bamford! That may have consequences…….
It was pretty awful to be honest. A traffic cone in that spot would have scored.
West Ham beat Arsenal 5-1 in the FA youth Cup last night. The class of '99 might be a stretch (Cole, Carrick) but fingers crossed some of them break through.
Bamford doing a Bamford but luckily it would have been ruled out anyway.
To any of the Spurs fans that don't already, have a listen to the View From The Lane podcast as it was great after the last match! Oh, and goes without saying that us Leeds should be listening to The Square Ball.
