I'll say one thing for Newcastle, they made Batshuayi look good. 😳

Here we go again ...Jorgenson deal off ( wasn't that excited anyway ) ..Sturridge joins the baggies after agreeing terms with the toon and then not turning up for his medical ..again totally underwhelmed that we were going after sicknote anyway ...( hope you get Pardewed and your career goes even further down the pan )

What really pisses me off is that here we are once again rummaging in the bargain bin looking for scraps with less than 48 hours to go ..

I really ****ing hate Ashley ..

You probably dodged a bullet with Sturridge. Wages of £150,0000 a week to sit outside the treatment room? With barely a sniff of a first team start for 2 seasons now?

Snubbing Rafa to go and work with Pardew says a lot about someone’s judgement.

it looks like you’re still short of anyone who knows where the back of the net is, which surely dumps you into a definite relegation scrap for the rest of the season

i’m not surpriseed you ****ing hate Ashley. You can’t see Rafa hanging around for long after another farcical transfer window. And it really is tragic to see how diminished the club has become under his ownership. Staying up, to milk the TV. Money, is now the level of ambition

A proper cup upset there then, with Wigan dumping West Aaaaaaam out.

Moyes made it pretty obvious that he didn't give a stuff about the cup by selecting the reserve team. A thoroughly cynical decision that got exactly what it deserved. And now Masuaku has a six game ban. Brilliant.

The only reason I can see for Sturridge choosing WBA over playing at St James' park and for Rafa, would be to not get tainted with the slow motion car crash that is happening there.

It’s a fair point MSP. With Ashley’s track record, he might sack Rafa next week and get one of his mates in instead...

Wahay, I've got a ticket for Old Trafford on Saturday.

I think the last time I went was for Bryan Robson's testimonial.

How's Ralphy Milne playing these days?

Particularly when you consider Jones, Smalling and Young are still on the pitch.

Still... I suppose we should congratulate Jones on his first and only worlld class finish

Absolutely ****ing woeful!!! One of the worst United performances i’ve ever witnessed!

Valencia was the only player who actually turned up. Everyone else? FFS!!! Pitiful! Did anyone notice if Lukaku was actually on the pitch?

And Jones? The sooner that dozy lummox is shipped out, the better!

Fair play to Spurs though. They were as good as we were abysmal. The scoreline flatters us.,Totally outplayed from start to finish

First trip back for a while, still waiting to see if we get a striker, we need a striker, or 2 plus side was the new lad looked on great form

Good win for City tonight but marred by the appalling tackling from West Brom which went largely unpunished. It seems to be open season on City players at the moment and I am wondering just what an opposition player would have to do to get a straight red.

The tackle on Diaz - an 18 year old kid - was dreadful.

I will welcome VAR if can help eliminate some of the cynical fouls that seem to be in vogue against us (thanks Danny Murphy) now that teams have twigged parking the bus is not a good option.

Seemed that Kenedy had a cracking game ..Joselu on the other hand ..

Pleased we have got a forward of Slimani's quality through the door albeit on loan and the fact that he is injured ( although it's apparently not as bad as first thought )..as for the keeper Dubravka..if he is an upgrade then fair enough ..but I didn't think we were too badly off in that department ..

Good luck to all the lads out on loan especially Mitro who I thought deserved more of a chance ( he has to be better than that plank Joselu ) Woodman at Aberdeen  ..and Aarons at Verona ..both of whom I'm hoping will still make it big..

Oh and don't know you but ..welcome home mikewsmith ...how is the weather suiting you ...?

Yep Kenedy was a standout, Joselu probably should be in the championship and Mitro well good luck and hope there is a buy out clause triggered before he gets sent off again, last night was probably one of those games that would have got him a red.

Worst bit was the fella in front turned to me at the penalty and simply said "Confident?" Nope was the answer from everyone.

Weather isn't too bad, you can dress for cold better than 38c.

Great passion in SJP still but can't help think something direct like not spending a penny in the stadium for a couple of weeks would help focus minds.

There have been some shocking tackles of late, city are going to get fouled more than most teams just due to the players and the style of play, the quick footwork and the close control. But the line is being crossed far too often, and Pep is right to complain, the refereeing has been woeful, opposition players seem to know they will get away with it. When Jesus got injured, the referee was over him angrily telling him to get up FFS!

Was there ever one? Did anyone notice if Lukaku actually turned up last night? Apart from to get lazily caught in the offside trap, yet again, with another mis-timed run?

I don't get why Jose doesn't drop him for a few games until he sorts his act out. He's been hopeless! Its not like we're short of firepower up front. I suppose its the price-tag talking. Drop him, and play Tony Marshall as a central striker, where he like stop be and is most effective

Kane is truly world class. I reckon he will be at Real next season, and Spurs will be about 200 million quid richer

Didn't have you down as a kneejerk reactionist Binners - you sound like one of those loons ranting on a footy phone in! Jones has been outstanding all season, OG's happen now and again. If I were you I'd be questioning the contribution of Pogba more than Jones....

Pogba is played out of position as is martial and rashford
He does not look world class often enough but i dont think its down to ability just tactics.

Matic and a other with Pogba as the 10 or at least a free role.

Lukaku just reminds me of Emile Heskey and Jason lees first touch.
Jones , if he can stay fit, will be world class though the OG was a bit of a howler.
That said we were outplayed in every area and deserved to lose possibly by even more

"if Fellani wasn’t injured. that was a savage substitution" (can't get the blockquote thing right!)

That was the icing on the cake, funniest moment in the match (just slightly better than Dele tripping Sanchez near the end)!

That game made the miserable trek to Wembley well worth it last night. Anybody that watched MOTD would think that Man U had 50% of the game, truth is they were outclassed everywhere on the pitch.

Now why can't we play like we did against Man U (and Dortmund, and Real Madrid, and Liverpool) when we play teams like Wet Spam, Burnley, and Swansea!

A very happy Spursn17

Love seeing Fat Sam suffering along with Pardew ..two former managers who are so far up themselves as to be untrue ..and for what reason I don't know ..to call them average would be being extremely generous .

Also great to see a born and bred Mackem ( Pickford ) get 4 goals stuck past him ..so far ..what a waste of money !

I think Arsenal got the best end of the deal from what I've seen so far ..Mickey Tar Iron looks a bit spesh ..

Mikatarian, Aubameyang and Ozil signing a new deal, Lacazette in the summer, the gooners are looking at an attacking force close to city's now. I wonder if Sanchez will end up regretting his move (not financially I guess). Although arsenal still need to improve their back line massively, in the current market decent defenders are rarer than good attackers, hence why they are nearly costing as much.

Great result for Brighton today. We really needed that as we've struggled since Christmas after a good start to the season. We really played well and could've had a few more goals. BTW worth staying up to the end of MOTD as Izquierdo's goal was brilliant. Gross's wasn't bad either.

Blimey! What a second half that was! 😳

Wanyama’s goal was an absolute rocket! Particularly as he’d been on the pitch about 3 seconds. Worth watching MOTD for later.

Ritchie was great for us at Bournemouth, not sure what has happened at Newcastle. Benitez must air a little of the blame I guess.  I do however think Rafa is doing a great job. Newcastle's squad is the worst in the PL by a long way IMHO and he is getting every last drop out of them just to keep their heads above water. Me mams side of the family are all Geordie and I love that city so I truly hope they stay up.

Great performance by Newcastle, particularly defensively, and we were just really poor again. They deserved the win.  The big name expensive signings need to up their game pretty significantly.

fitting that the goal came from the free kick given for Smalling for blatantly diving, for which he was rightly carded. It’s just embarrassing!

firmino should have just got one there for Liverpool. Get up you muppet!

The top four race just got a bit more interesting - obviously City are guaranteed and Arsenal are maybe a bit too far adrift. So three from four - Chelsea most vulnerable?

You’d be a brave/stupid man who put any money on where anyone other than city will finish. It’s wide open for the other 3 champions league places, mid-table obscurity  now consists of Burnley, Everton and Leicester, and everyone below them is potentially for the drop

There’s never been a season like it! Totally bonkers! The final run in is going to be mental. There are going to be some crazy results, with so many teams scrapping for their premiership survival

Based on today I think Southampton are in big trouble - they were limp! Not many games to go now for a managerial change to make an impact either.

Basel are about as easy a European tie as can be, whereas Juve are a much tougher proposition (even if they are not quite at the level they were a year or 2 ago).

Well done Wigan. You wanted it more than us.

Delph sending off was a bit harsh but he was stupid giving Taylor the opportunity to make the decision. Grigg was a handful and took his goal brilliantly.

Need to step up the performance levels against Arsenal on Sunday.

Great performance by Wigan last night on top of another great display by Rochdale on Sunday.

Wigan-born mrs Binners was an extremely happy bunny and continued her streak of highly improbable winning bets with a tenner (which was a free bet on her new account) on a 'Keep the Faith' repeat of the FA cup final, and a Wigan win.

At 17/1

You should have seen her watching the last few minutes through her fingers 😀
