right, time up 0-2, we'll take that! 😆 done well for 60 minutes, stuffing knocked right out of us now though after that penalty. lets just keep the score down! 😆

have to say though, I've been well happy with our performance tbh, stood up and took them on as best we could, can't ask for any more.

I guess the league table is beginning to take shape - top 4 beginning to edge clear with Spurs hanging on, although Liverpool being in that top four was perhaps unexpected. Rest hanging on with the usual suspects down the bottom and in the Europa league positions. Leicester up there with Blackburn defining the one season wonder tag?

Well that was more like it! We've looked really good last couple of games and ended up drawing games we should have put to bed by half time.

Mkhitaryan looked awesome tonight! Can't figure out why Jose hasn't played him, when that's what he can do.

I ENjoyed it too - rumour has it Mkhitaryan threw a strop after being subbed in his first game and jose wasn't having any of that. Was told to knuckle down or be sold/rot in reserves.

We have been playing better - whilst jose tarnished his reputation last season I still rate him as a top level manager.

Sounds like the usual football rumour pish. Mkhitaryan has it in him to be one of the very best players in the country, god knows what the speshul one has been thinking about not playing him.

Yeah.... As a Spurs fan, i don't suppose you need to bother with it. You can be disdainful, what with you having won the premiership so many times, and your continued success in Europe...

Oh... hang on a minute.....

Binners I think you are OK, sadly more Spurs style to conceed late than score. That contract Moyes gave Rooney looks more desperate every week.

Interesting piece in the Torygragh this week about Ferguson and Pochettino

Phew! Not even the appearance of hair'n'elbows managed to throw away the three points this week!

Carry on like that and come the end of the season we might be scrapping it out with Arsenal for fourth! 😀

Supposedly Stan Collymore was critical of Pep in a newspaper column. A Spanish journo asked Pep about it, priceless responce 🙂

£4m bonus if he keeps Palace up allegedly. With the players they have that should be relatively straightforward, and more lucrative than his England gig, even with the 'extras.'

Well after I said a few weeks ago a top four was pulling away from the rest it's very much a top six now. United are on a good run now and may be a good bet to get in the top four by the end of the season - but who will miss out? With their lack of European football I think Liverpool will make it and Chelsea are obviously certainties which leaves two from the Manchester and North London clubs. I'll go for Spurs and City missing out, unless Pep really chucks some cash about in January.

Pep really chucks some cash about in January.

he's going to need dig deep into the Arabs pockets to attract top players with the Chinese throwing cash around like it has gone out of fashion, £52 million for oscar on £400,000 per week 😯 for example,

Aye, the Oscar deal is staggering. Danny Mills, whose views I normally have little time for, made some good points regarding the Chinese league the other night on 5 live. Basically it's a short career, it's a job at the end of the day and like any other profession you work to retire. More money makes your retirement better. It's pretty obscene but he felt the cash will lure more and more and increasingly attract players like Oscar in their prime, not on the way out.

I don't think it will be long till these deals turn out to have been too good to be true, and players leave China unpaid. Chinese football just doesn't generate the revenue to sustain them.

That table makes interesting reading. As Fergie always said, the season doesn't start til January.

Top four is looking a lot more open than a few weeks ago. Well... the other places after Chelski winning it. City look like they're going backwards under Pep. Toothless yesterday, and Liverpool dealt with them easily. It'll be interesting to see if Arsenal commence their traditional .'Doing an Arsenal' routine this afternoon. It's got potential.

Oh... and come on Watford! 🙂

I disagree. An Arsenal three-goal comeback? In January? It is the end of days, I tell you.

Normal service would be a 3-1 thrashing and Arsene sulking at the ref.

As an aside, when was the last time the champions got relegated the following season? Only six points clear of the drop zone at the moment.

Last year wasn't a special memory for me 😐

Stamford Bridge worst stadium I have ever visted, last time I was there after fighting with the few Spurs fans the Chelsea fans started fighting each other. A few lots of coins thrown at players and a bottle (old days). My mate who is a Chelsea fan ahd to move his season ticket seats after a guy sat near them kept threatening his son week in week out. 4 fans convicted of racism in Paris yesterday.

My only direct experience of Chelseas delightful fans was listening to them all enthusiastically chanting racist songs, similar to the ones their repertoire consisted of in France. A lovely lot. Now whenever I see meatheaded England fans kicking off abroad, I automatically think 'I bet they're Chelsea'

I'll be supporting your lot tonight Jammers, old boy. 🙂

I wouldn't fancy Martin Atkinsons job tonight

Nice stereotyping there.

Go to the top of the class with a prize for "I can't be arsed to engage my brain & realise that racism is prevalent in all walks of life & not limited to one demographic...."

🙄

It seems to be quite prevalent in Chelsea fans though, doesn't it? More than any other club. Likeable bunch that they are, that I've had the 'pleasure' of witnessing in full on racist chanting action, in person. Maybe I dreamt it and they're all really really nice people?

Or Have you somehow missed the news this week? All the Chelsea racist stuff? Hardly a new phenomenon, is it? Always the same club. All following the example of their 'Club Legend'... a renowned racist, I suppose...

Hey ho

Anyway... always love seeing Chelsea lose. And I had money on a Spurs win, and on Deli Ali as man of the match at an inexplicable 9/1, so all in all, I enjoyed that.

Here's hoping it's the start of a string of defeats

Cheers! 😀

More shitheads and racists per head than any other prem team by a country mile.

More than any other club.

Got a stat for that?

Or is that just your prejudice speaking?

IMHO it's more often than not a vocal minority - NOT the majority. But then after 30 years of following the club I could well be wrong.....

Happy to see your peer reviewed evidence that backs up your opinion....

ICF?

Rangers?

Celtic?

Hammers?

Leeds?

Sunderland?

Stoke?

Blimey, open your eyes - racism & violence isn't the sole domain of one club.

Get out of your bubble!

the claim is chelsea are the worst, for racism, not that no other club has issues [ or that other issues are also involved in some football fans]...amusingly you are trying to move the goalposts.

I have no idea if its true or false but its not hard to work out what is being claimed

HOwever if you asked me to name a team with racist fans i think i would say a london club and probably chelsea . This is not peer reviewed mind 😉

I don't know if I'd say Chelsea are the most racist, but they do stand out along with certain others. I don't think anyone's claiming they are alone.

As for the vocal minority. Absolutely I agree, same as any other club. HOWEVER - and this was the big disappointment for me in the recent French case. One of the defendant's defence case was on the basis that he wasn't involved in the chanting, just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Even if it was just a couple of people / a few, the train carriage was packed with people in the same place at that same time, and I didn't see anyone step forward and stand up for the guy or try to stop the vocal minority.

They might not have been actively involved, but if Chelsea / football / society wants to stop this happening it's not good enough to 'not be involved' - you have to be actively against.

I'm not trying to move any goalposts.

I'm just fed up with hearing the same tired old stories of x y z.

IME I've yet to see a prem club visit the Bridge & their fans behave like saints.

What I do think is that sometimes CFC are pilloried, sometimes rightly so, by some as an attempt of deflection to hide the bigger picture that rasicsm & violence is still part of football culture ergo possibly something that their own club is guilty of too.

Like I said - bigger picture.

The league needed last nights result, lets hope this makes chelsea stumble for a couple more games and opens it all up for a competitive end to the season. Still think chelsea and liverpool have the advantage with the lack of european football, but a smart buy in the transfer window could swing it.

Getting back to the topic, that was one of the best defensive performances I've seen. They caught Costa offside every time a ball went forward. Totally neutralised him and Pedro. Not easy to do.

It certainly livens things up. Like MSP I think its Chelsea and Liverpool that have the advantage, but it looks like anyone could beat anyone on any given day, at the moment. Should be a cracking end run in to the end of the season. Its not been this competitive for a long time.

Liverpool losing Mane to the African nations cup won't help their chances. And the Liverpool play Man U (A) and Chelski (H) in January. Of the top 6 Arsenal have the easiest run in January by far, so expect the top of the table to look different come the end of the month.

Interesting points raised. I have to say that based on my 30 years as a (dwindling) fan of the sport, my worst witnessed behaviour experiences have been Chelsea, West Ham and Villa fans.
Of course, its the minority letting them down, but it seems to me that thier minority is larger for some reason.

I've yet to see a prem club visit the Bridge & their fans behave like saints

Southampton have their fair share of numpties too.

Back on topic, I was impressed with Spurs last night, yet despite my soft spot for them I found myself routing for Chelski for one of the first times in my life as ABL fully kicks in.
Also, you just know deep in your soul that when it comes to a match that actually means something, Spurs will choke. I'd love to see them turn on the style against the big hitters come April/May though.

Conte was thoroughly gentlemanlike post match though eh? Refreshing.

it's quite amusing to to see fans of a club who like to sing 'The sun was right, You're murderers' handing out lectures on behaviour, bit of banter, all in good jest and jolly japes I suppose.

Liverpool's last 6 or 7 games are pretty straightforward (on paper at least!) and if they manage to win one of the United or Chelsea games coming up they'll be in with a good chance. They have Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal all to play at home. Be interesting to see Chelsea's response to last nights result.

Haven't seen the game (thought it was away 😳 ) but a good result against a form team. Chelsea must be gutted to concede two headers from Al and they where thenonly chances on target 🙂 You can't undo the past (last years scrap) but that's a confidence building win.

they are sectarian haters on that we will all agree.

Whether this is racism or not is a point not worth having IMHO

We have the form but you can never tell as the derby games are a bit like cup matches.

Good to see a top 6 though as it makes for a more dynamic league than we have had for a while as there are some quality teams there

On present form, it should be a United win. But it never works like that against Liverpool. They are indeed like cup games. The only thing I'm betting on is Fellaini getting booked 🙂
