I was given one yesterday as a very welcome present.

A lovely book.

Having not received it for either my birthday or Christmas I was fearing the worst but then my brother in law came good today. It's lovely and I especially like the explainers.

For anyone who’s just ordered, or is thinking of ordering, I had an email from them this morning with an update:

Hi there

Thanks for your order of LOST SUMMERS AND HALF-FORGOTTEN AFTERNOONS over the Christmas period.

We’re just back to work today to find that Amazon has taken all our books (they demand large numbers at their own warehouses), so we’re having to move some stock around – so your book will be slightly delayed.

It should be on its way next week, and you’ll get a shipping notification as soon as that happens.

If that’s inconvenient, please get back to me and we can arrange a refund.

Apologies, and thanks for your patience.

@CountZero

Thanks! That's saved me £12!

Ordered for £30 on Amazon with free delivery (against £42 buying direct).

Turned up this morning from Amazon.

Great quality - bigger and heftier than expected - looking forward to working my way through it!

Popped into town and checked my bin I keep outside by my front door for post to be dropped into, and there was a large rectangular cardboard box in there…

…I now have a copy that I can happily let go slightly dog-eared over the coming days, weeks and years of reading about dusty trails. *sigh*

So from today, I will be carrying my own personal tribute to Mint!

Yes, they’re blushing at the honour bestowed upon them, but they’ll get over themselves, once the redness of having sharp pointy things repeatedly poked into my skin goes away!
I had the Fibonacci sequence and the Hello Cthulhu touched up as well. Gemma, my tattooist, had a lot of fun with Mint, reproducing the watercolour effect, she had around a dozen or so little bottles of ink on her worktop to ink it.

I like it!

Thank you, Gemma, my tattooist, is chuffed to bits with the way it’s come out. It’s a one-off, it’s never appeared in any Mint magazine strip or page, JoB painted it for me at the Bike Show years ago, and it’s something I treasure - having it inked means I carry it around with me, and it makes me smile every time I look at it! 😊

Thanks all, it’s just starting to scab over a bit now, so making sure I use cocoa butter on it - it’s the worst part of the process, but it should look nice and bright later.

I’ve got a couple more that JoB did on different occasions, I might get one other one done, ‘cos it’s really nice and simple, and won’t take too much space. My favourite summer pastime - sitting staring up at clouds and aircraft…

I told Gemma I’d be posting it on here, I’ll send your kind words when I see her next, she was really pleased with it.

Popped into town this afternoon, taking some shopping back to the car and Gem was walking towards me on her way to catch her train home, so I was able to tell her that there are members here who like her work, which she was very chuffed about! I mentioned getting the standing stone design done sometime soon as well. Nice simple design, the shading on the stone should work nicely. The aircraft will be included, of course!

Ok, I hadn’t looked there for a while, so I can feel a purchase coming soon. Also a present for a mate as well - he’s a pain to find something different for all the time, so this is a great idea! 😃

Sold out - buggerit! Just have to keep checking back regularly.

Not been on the MBUK website for donkeys years - never realised how sparse it was.

Very little content, no forum and no adverts everywhere (as far as I can see).

Seems you can just make a magazine only approach pay!
