Yep.

6 year old and 18 month old grand kids here for a few days. Plus son and his missis, plus their two mental dogs.

Just about sorted and sneaking off to bed. Was really easy this year, bless 'em.

Now, that thread about having no kids or pets and a nice clean tidy house? That was us until this afternoon. Now looks like someone lobbed a grenade through the window 😄😱

Gifts that were hidden in the car are being put under the tree as we speak. I wrapped them all and some don’t have labels on which is obviously my fault. Mrs B getting stressed and snappy. Tension rising.... Merry Christmas STW!

Me and Ms SR. I ate the mince pie and drank the milk, and now I have an upset stomach. 🙁

Yep... all done.

Ten minutes from now, after I’ve Brushed the carrots from my teeth, not a creature will be stirring , not even a mouse.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Just put a mini trampoline up and filled the stocking up. Mountain of presents for little miss breadcrumb, with more at Grandma's! I think it'll be toy overload tomorrow.

Santa was left rum and a mince pie, empty glass and mince pie crumbs are left along with a half eaten carrot.

Now time for bed... or another glass of rum...

Yes, though Prof North apparently shoulder barging doors isn’t helping daughter stay asleep.

Are women pathologically incapable of remaining quiet?

Mrs ws also has the bag on because she's tired. I've told her to go to sleep and I'll sort it. Unfortunately I've now got to somehow get a modern geometry mountain bike with a wheel base the size of a range rover out the back of my van and in the front door without putting any wheel marks on the freshly painted walls. Plus I've forgotten which colour is which for the stocking drop. I'm a dead man walking/bumbling....

Absolutely. It’s why they bang on about being multi-taskers - whatever they’re doing they can add ‘being noisy’ to it which, apparently, means they have to do it to retain the myth. 😉

Back from Christmas Eve service, just finishing off anything left lying around that is edible while waiting for the family to disappear to bed so can do any last bits of wrapping.  Starting to get into the mood

edit: may have to alter my will as neither whisky nor carrots appear to have been left out

Santa has been. Oats on the floor for the reindeer and an empty whisky glass for Santa. (On call 🙁 )

Don’t leave mince pies/chocolate out if you have dogs or I’ll get called out again to induce vomiting. Still at least we have a large amount of goodies to eat while I wait on them barfing it all back up.

Why did you place the stocking so high?

Just prepped the sprouts, pressies under the tree, winding down with a whiskey and midnight mass from buckfast Abbey. Was expecting more fighting and swearing tbh, guess they sell more than they drink.

Yep, it's the first Christmas that our near 3 year old is aware of the concept, so I've been assembling a workbench and taking nibbles out of biscuits and carrots. As we're with my parents for Christmas, it's been a team effort to make it right but I'm beside myself with excitement waiting for the morning.

Just completed another 2 hour bout of wrapping. Am hoping that’s it now.

Santa’s whisky has been downed, his biccies nibbled and carrot discarded. Off to bed soon, at which time I shall carefully deploy monkey jnr’s goodies.

Bugger. Where’s the Mrs left the carrot and mince pie.

I’ve already taken a second Zantac after dinner at my BILs. Whether or not I’ve got reflux or an ulcer I’m going on a diet on Boxing Day. Ouch!

Oh and just found also some CDs. No idea if they’re for the daughter or wife. Did it, the daughter has half the world’s available gifts (sorry everyone) so Prof North can have George Ezra and the Greatest Showman soundtrack....

Bugger it..!

Just remembered I managed to get my daughter to sleep by shifting her in with Mrs North.

There’s no way I’m risking waking her now. Off to sleep in her bed on my own - let’s hope Santa gets the stockings right..!!!

The opposite here. I'm in my thirties and am at my mum and Dad's for Christmas. We've come home from the pub and done the traditional pre Christmas tactical chunder and Father Christmas has already filled the stocking on my door. Top work.

Mmm I nodded off for 90 mins so just finished deploying the gifts. However it would now seem I have a dose of the dodgy guts! On the plus side at least laddos new bike didn't have a hope rear hub or it would have woke the whole house. Have a great day tomorrow one and all, get some sleep!

Got up at 5.15am for a beautiful frosty walk along the river with the dog. Really enjoyed one hour of peace and quiet. Now enjoying a cup of tea in bed whilst waiting for kids to explode into the room.

Sitting here smiling indulgently at the memories. Our son was out at the pub last night, no idea what time he got back, but he didn't wake us for a change, and no idea what time he'll get up. Enjoying another hour of peace before Mrs B wakes
Best wishes to you all especially those who are working
