....which is all of us unless we are on an hourly wage or self employed.
So don't feel bad about spending all day on here!
What?
Edit: Aah, 29th Feb...
Part of my salary is commission, so it’s an extra day to get more sales 🤷
I understand your argument BUT...
My employer pays me an annual salary. One year equals one rotation of the Earth around the Sun. Today is an extra day in this year to compensate for the missed 1/4 of a day in the last four years.
Hence I'm happy that today is a normal day for which I am being paid.
YMMV :o)
So no one.
There’s about a dozen on here aren’t there?
They must look very old for their age. (Mind you I was told when I was 22 that I was 'born 40' so glass houses and all that)
Define work.......
My employer pays me for doing nothing most of the time, so swings n roundabouts innit 🙂

You work at the funfair?
Self employed and not working.
Whose birthday is it today? 🙂
Tis Mine
Double post as server so slow and not responding
Well the hamsters certainly think its a day off
You work at the funfair?
I get paid for spinning the waltzer cars
I think teachers are paid for 195 days per year

I'm not sure this thread was intended for serious and accurate answers.
I'm just waiting for all the proposals from the laydeez.

No you got paid more for working today than you will for any day you work in July.
21 working days in this month 23 in July
Me
I'm on
annual leave today

This ☝️ Nice positive mindset rather than my employer is robbing me 🤣👍
Once every 4 years I'm just thankful my employer doesn't ask me to marry them.
I took voluntary redundancy from the MOD along with a very large percentage of the establishment, last day was 28 years ago today, yes they got an extra day out of us 😂

I hadn't considered this and now it annoys me.
If I start getting pedantic about working hours, they might also be pedantic, starting with my browsing history during work time. Not going there.
Day rate contractors everywhere will be celebrating the extra income!
I’m on expenses in Norway this week, have finished work for the day so will be eating, drinking and making merry on their time and tab.
Not me, I'm paid by the year as above.
However I'm getting a freebie from all the services I pay for by the month e.g. broadband, streaming services, mobile phone etc.

You're not using a work device to do your personal browsing are you? That feels like your opening yourself up to the potential for bother!
Probably. But I work for the sate, so a lot of things get done for free
Get paid on the last Thursday of the month, which would have been last week if not for today.
Compared to last year this year is a total rip off. An extra day AND no funeral/coronation bank holidays. Where do I send the letter to get this resolved?
@gecko76 - it feels very unfair for February to be a five week month doesn't it?
working for their employer for free today
It's worse than that.
Last year I purchased an extra 5 days leave, and had a day of that left over by the year end, the deadline for taking it (in theory at any rate) was extended until today.
So, in essence, I'm paying them roughly £200 for the privilege of working today. Yes, I'm a pillock.
Not content with not getting paid today, I went the whole hog and wasted a days holiday too! 🤔
And it's raining, and I got a puncture that wouldn't seal, and then I had to stop again to have another bash at getting the tyre to seat properly before it turned into a speed wobble!

If I start getting pedantic about working hours, they might also be pedantic, starting with my browsing history during work time. Not going there.
Before personal devices were a thing, this was gross misconduct at HMRC for flexitime fraud. Guess how I know this....
Not working, so it doesn’t matter, but it was a very close friends birthday, and normally she’d be away working at a Youth Hostel, currently Tal-y-Bont, by the foot of the reservoir, but she’s at home so I actually got to give her a card and a pressy, and we get to go out for a drink tonight - first time in many years. 😁
With it being a leap year we get to do a 5 shift block instead of a 4 shift block, which is a bit rubbish.
Also this year when the clocks go forward my shift loses an hour between days, and gets the 13 hour shift in October. Pah.

I started a new job last April, only to find that the organization is in dire financial trouble and will close my department in March 2025 (when existing contracts with customers expire). That means I'll be doing two years and one days work internet surfing but not getting paid for the extra day. I feel like someone owes me.
Gov fought quite hard to make sure we're paid for 195days making bought back holidays/strike days etc more expensive.
Obviously not getting a little extra because there's 196 days this year because........reasons.
An extra day AND no funeral/coronation bank holidays
No funeral bank holidays so far

Yeah, so did I yesterday. so I went to the supermarket and demanded my free food for the leap day - obviously it must be free because I pay for it over the previous 'missed 1/4 of a day in the last four years'. I was escorted off the premises and told not to go back. I might ring my gas company today and ask where my free gas is.... 😀
I've worked for my employer for over 25 years so I think the annual salary thing kind of evens out the extra day
Do people in sales gets an extra day to make their monthly target?
