just wish we had the flying cars but thanifully no killer androids yet.

still a stunning film/soundtrack that could have been released yesterday and blown people away.

i wish you all a happy new year also and hope it will be a good one for everyone 🙂

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Worth noting, that’s not how that soliloquy was written in the script - Rutger Hauer re-wrote it the night before the shoot. After the shoot, the crew gave him a round of applause, some even cried. One of those great moments in film.

Well I for one say thanks God we haven't got flying cars. Look how much trouble 1 drone (or maybe not) caused.

Am I the only SciFi fan in the world who doesn't like Blade Runner?

I'm looking forward to a new flying car, but not having to park up to use a pay phone to make a video call.

Not looking forward to all of the rain either.

May not have flying cars, etc. but the forecast of a dystopian two-tier society is looking worryingly plausible...

In that respect Scotland is Blade runner right here right now!
In every other respect, it isn't.

Scott's cinematography would've lost something if they'd had the ban on smoking indoors too.

I must remember to turn on the 50m flat screen tv and exhaust gas flare at work.

Heading out later to catch a Pan am flight to pick up an Atari.

It’s worth a couple of hours of your life if you’ve got nothing better on.

That’s what they want you to think...

It’s worth a couple of hours of your life if you’ve got nothing better on.

Better than watching any Will Ferrell movie ever made, better than a great many other films ever made.

I thought Blade Runner was modern day Beijing?

& The Pinkster, you're not the only one - I recently watched it with my GF & I didn't enjoy it as much as when I was younger. The older (hopefully) more intelligent me found it to be a movie of it's time.

The Running Man was set in 2017.

We still haven't got the kill or be killed game show, but we do have "Love Island".

Imagine going on a thread "What do you think of the Santa Cruz Hightower" and just saying "I haven't got one" - you would look a right twonk.

I didn't think much of it either, but the sequel was pretty awesome (amazingly, isn't it meant to be the reverse...) - mind you i recently watched The Shining and for the life of me can't see why it's held in such high regard :0/

Oh I don’t know, I quite liked ‘the good guys’.

TBH anyone who takes the time to chip into a thread just to say they haven’t seen it obviously has ‘history’ of some sort with it, when it comes to films it’s usually because they’re fed up over everyone falling over themselves to say how it changed the landscape of film forever or whatever. It’s just a film, it’s a good one, but it won’t change your life, you might not even like it, it’s after all, long on visuals and a bit short on story and dialogue, the sequel even more so. Not everyone’s cup of tea.

I rather like it, got the directors cut somewhere on DVD. Watched 2049 yesterday too and I really liked that, stunning visuals, but not one for those who like loads of verbal and epic story lines to follow, although the plot us excellent.
I also though Ryan Gosling was rather good, quite similar to the way he acts in Only God Forgives, with the same visual undertones IMHO
