He's worked really hard and still has to complete the mandatory degree all police must have now... But he's officially a copper today.

Obviously I can't post pictures but im so very proud of him. He's genuinely a decent man and a brilliant dad and I take no credit for any of it. It's all him.

Seeing him in his uniform today holding his 2 year old son was possibly the most lovely and poignant thing I've ever seen.

I freely admit I blabbed a few times during the ceremony and picture talking. Its a bit dusty as I type this in fact.😁

No reason to post really but you lot, well, your family.

Was trying to think of some truncheon related reference but thought it would be in bad taste!

Well done poop junior! Which force?

I'm 28 years in this year and due to retire next year when I turn 55.

I've loved it and hated it in equal measure but looking back I'd do it all again and have had some amazing times and met people who've changed my life.

Best of luck to him!

Nah, it's all good. Though my "truncheon" is still waiting a firmware update.😂

Don't quote me on this but I think any degree will do but as for the name of the one he is studying for... It's name escapes me! He's another couple of years or more studying for it along side his new career, that much I do know... It's free though.👍

Unnecessary expense then? He's done the required training, proved himself capable and passed but still has to do a degree to tick a box as well?

Congratulations though! 🙂

It's not a truncheon, how very dare you, it's now a baton that can be extended at will.

Good luck PC Poop.

Sorry Poops. Couldn't resist. Have you tried updating by turning it off then turning it on again?

Bravo to your son.  I spent 12 years with the Met before leaving the job for the railway.  Best job ever, met some great mates, exciting work and a proper sense of camaraderie

I don’t regret leaving but have many many fond memories

Thanks guys.

Yeah, he's going to have some tough times for sure. I know some of the training he had regarding the potential child abuse scenarios he might meet were pretty tough for him.

I'll never stop reminding him that most people are fundamentally decent and to be thankful for the small wins.

Well done to the lad; like Bregante I’ve loved & hated it in equal measures. It amazes me that folk still have the drive and strength to do it. Highest highs & lowest lows…

Unnecessary expense then? He’s done the required training, proved himself capable and passed but still has to do a degree to tick a box as well?

It’s ok, David Cameron convinced us all that Police Officers were all thick as “pig” shit plod & needed a degree to be professional like a Doctor… so he didn’t bother giving them a pay rise for about 10 years and decimated their pension scheme. But at least new recruits get a degree 👍🏻
