A long time ago, and no reply to emails so I'm left to moan on an open forum.

Trout I'd really like it back, fixed or not I don't care. It's battery is missing it, and so am I now the nights are closing in.

You could maybe buy a cheap unit from dealextrme/ebay to keep your battery occupied for a while until your old liberator is returned.

It's probably harder to get parts for them now.

When my Liberator was in for repair, they loaned me a replacement.
It wasn't as good though....

Too late for advice now but you would probably have been better sending to Smudge at mtb batteries, he would have been able to check the battery and confirm it was the light.

My liberator dies after a winters use, one of the led's had fried or something. Chris repaired and returned reasonably quickly.

Which reminds me that it packed up again last year, need to send to smudge to get it checked over in case it's the battery.

Back on topic anyone?

I've emailed Troutie about updating mine to the latest LED's... No answer given. I understand he's out of the game now, but happy to pay for the work required given that the beam pattern is way better than anything else I've ever used off-road, but that I'm feeling slightly under gunned in the lumen wars against some these days...

That's a shame I had good service from Chris when buying lights off him.

Does he even frequent this site now?

Speaking to Mark at Mtb batteries a few weeks ago about trout stuff and he reckoned Chris was heading off abroad for a bit so not to expect a speedy response to any enquiries.

Had a great weekend marshaling stage 1 on sat had 87 wipeouts just up from the catch netting but no injuries .
and great banter at the start of 3 on the sunday
the weather was amazing

From the 'Ard Moors thread a few days ago. So possibly not abroad now.

I even said I'd pay him postage to send it back!!

Is there anyone who lives local who could visit him and retrieve items in exchange for some beer tokens and postage??

All I wanted was a replacement bar clamp after exchanging messages he's done a lord lucan on me.

Managed to bust my bar clamp when I had a Liberator. So just swapped it out for a Hope Universal one -

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/hope-universal-handlebar-mount/rp-prod23533?gs=1&gclid=CLyeupWPl9ICFQsR0wodDgEBLQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

Picked up some new bolts locally for pence and tbh it was just as good as the alloy one with the fish on the side

I used a Lummi one from the off as I much prefer it

Nothing but good words to say about Trout but he has essentially stopped doing them so the support you get wont be Hope like anymore
