I might actually watch it in the hope they get a question in. I generally avoid it too be honest, too depressing.
They are genuinely really nice people, very politically active too.
more so than QT what I always find utterly depressing is listening to the callers on R4 on a Saturday afternoon on 'Any Answers', following 'Any Questions'... at that point I turn the wireless off!

Oh, I thought you lived in Southampton, or possibly Cruellaville
Cruellaville? Cheeky devil!
Costa del Medway in Kent. Which is good and bad in equal measure I suppose.

Agreed - Any answers is the weekly R4 low. And I'm including the Archers in that.
Medway......[Al Murray's Pub Landlord voice] "A good honest British part of the world.......it might be a streak of piss on gods green and pleasant land, but it's good honest Britain's for the British piss" [/Al Murray's Pub Landlord voice]. Could be worse and next door in Gravesend I guess.
Got to say, the best thing about Medway is that it's right on top of the North Downs Way. Knowing there is some lovely countryside within biking/ walking distance really helps me when I'm a bit down. It doesn't hold a candle to the SDW but I still count myself lucky to have it so near.
I love it around the Hoo peninsula too, many happy memories of exploring around there. Hell, I still do.

in the hope they get a question inIf they were going to get a question in, they would know by now, it isn’t very spontaneous.
Yeah, I get what you mean, I don't know in truth. If not they might be one of the randoms to get asked a follow up perhaps?

Officially that is still "home" for me.
tbf you don't need to go very far from the urban dump to get to the nice bits. Like NDW etc.

Ha, small world! We lived on the marina when I was born in a funny caravan, then moved to Wainscott then back to Hoo. Mum and dad did up that big house next to the working man's club/BT exchange. It had been derelict for decades. Our kitchen sink was sat upon 2 oil drums for a while I remember. Mum and dad did the whole lot themselves. I still remember mum mixing up cement for dad in the back garden. 😁
There is a brick archway under all that ivy. My old dad made that arch in the late 70's.😁
Costa del Medway in Kent.
Kentish Man or Man of Kent, asks a Man of Kent?
Cliffe here, but went to school in Hoo. I probably wouldn't even recognise the place now if I went back there.
edit: Kentish Man
^^ Had mates in Cliffe woods when I was at the middle school and hundred of Hoo.
Probably not your neighbour, but top marks to the guy who said it’s been like living in a 14 year long episode of The Thick Of It.
Even the Tory MP laughed at that one. How pertinent on a day when ‘marzipan dildo’ is trending on Twitter in reference to Liz Truss. A Malcolm Tuckerism courtesy of Nichola Sturgeons WhatApp messages 😂
Have to travel to Medway City Industrial estate every night for work, always glad to leave there and head home to my little part of Kent thirty miles away.
