Babybgoode is fast asleep and I've got beer, whisky and a bit of Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong on the hi-fi (note to pendants that is I've got beer and whisky to drink - those two items are not on the hi-fi with Ella and Louis).

Perfect way to spend this fine barmy Friday evening...

Cheers

That'll be later...

Call me old fashioned but I like to sit down, kick back and listen to an album through without any distractions.

Plenty of time for fettling as well.

@Drac - not going silly - couple of beers a dram or two of whisky and that'll be me done but after a tough week at work I ain't not drinking full stop.

Cheers

Danny B

Drag
A glass of whiskey and a beer should be fine?

Drac - The whiskey is for the children to help then sleep.

Why not out of interest? Did you think your judgement/reactions would be too impaired in an emergency?

Choice as the only responsible adult in the house I didn't think it was wise to drink, Ok maybe had one bottle of beer but that would be it. I'd rather be sober and capable of looking after them than drink.

I've seen what can happen when people chose not to, judgement and reactions being impaired being part of it.

Each to their own though.

Rest easy Drac - I would not get to the point of not being able to look after babybgoode or even close to - far far to precious.

He took us three or so years to make and ultimately we had to involve a mad embryologist so all the more special for what we went through to get him.

Cheers

No it's personal choice that's all.

I sure you wouldn't as they really are.

Drac - Moderator

Don't think I ever drank alcohol when I was the only adult looking after my kids when they were babies.

As the second response in a light hearted OP, I'm struggling to see how that isn't just self-righteous nastiness aimed at a perfectly pleasant forum member.

No offence taken guys - calm down calm down (in a Scouse accent). There are undoubtedly people out there who are not capable of looking after and should not be allowed to have children and Drac has seen this first hand.

I am not one of them though and am still thoroughly enjoying a pleasant but responsible tipple, Ella and Louis and a night - for the first time in a long time - when the only person I have to please is me (assuming babybgoode doesn't stir.

Cheers

Perfectly sensible response, what a pleasant chap you are *adds to the list* 😀

As a Moderator though, who should have a reasonable view of frequent posters, I can't see how that was posted without any intent other than being self-righteous, or inflammatory. Which makes me a bit sad.

@DR - ?? Confused. Are you saying I shouldn't end every post with 'Cheers etc...'

The main reason I do is that I do that on every forum I am a member of.

Always have, always will (and I never have it as an auto-signature if the forum so permits - always hand typed because that's the kind of guy I am!)...

Cheers

That wasn't what I was after no. Go one have another guess.

No keep trying.

I have but not what I was suggesting is the case with you.

Drac's somewhat acid remarks are just his style bearnecessities, as a "frequent poster" you should have noticed that. I don't think they should be taken too seriously.

@ dannybgoode - I find your constant signatures surprisingly annoying, for reasons I can't explain.
And the annoying factor appears to be increasing 🙂

I have, increasingly 🙁

EDIT: Thinking about it, I may just have the 'mod' role misunderstood.

(And keep the "Cheers Danny B", I like it 🙂 )

Ella and louis is good with a shot of whisky or cognac ... Now dim the lights, sit back on one of them reclining sofas and press that play button on your HiFi remote.

Or you may have misread what I was saying. I can be very brief in my posts which probably makes them easy to misunderstand.

I'm with you Danny. Blobby jr in bed (who's story curiously also involves an embryologist or two!) and Mrs Blobby out seeing friends. Enjoying man telly (motogp practice sessions) and a nice (single small!) glass of cotes du Rhone 🙂

@mrblobby - the great thing about IVF of course is that you get photos of 8 cell embryos with which to embarrass babybgoode with in front of any future girl/boyfriends (we're an equal opportunities family!). Obvious questions like - 'Do you think he looks like me?' etc.

Cheers

Haha, yes indeed, we reckon he looks like a snack a jack (rice cake thing) in his day 5 embryo photo!

For those wondering what Mr B and I are blabbering on about - when you have photos of your children like this:

You truly have some of the earliest photos of your bundles of joy you could possibly have...

Just a quick secondary note. I'm far better at dealing with children after alcohol.

The little rats are almost impossible to tolerate sober.

Just a final note.

I've drunk quite a substantial quantity of wine.

Let's face it some people can't look after their children when perfectly sober, so in the grand scheme of things a wee dram surely is nae bother 🙂

Enjoy your evening Danny, don't think you are being irresponsible at all and some good music choices! However, when I used to drink - I preferred not to when looking after the children on my own, in case an emergency trip to hospital was required. I don't think I was being uptight and I certainly won't condemn Danny for being more relaxed about it either!
