Hi

Just had a visit from CID. Apparently some scrote claims to have been finding my car open on the drive and sleeping on the back seat from time to time 😱😡

Last night he decided to have a rummage about and steal my Oakley’s and a couple of old phones from the glove box.

He was arrested an hour later (at 03.30) behaving suspiciously and confessed. No damage to the car.

Have given a statement and get my stuff back tomorrow.

Weird!!!

Cheers

Steve

I know.

Who stores old phones in the glovebox?

I generally agree with the term 'scrote' when applied to thieves, but in your case, it sounds like the squatter was any combination of homeless, an addict, or mentally ill. It certainly doesn't sound like he was malicious.

Drug dealers.

OP, they are on to you. Car squatter is probably an undercover CID officer. If he tries to start a sexual relationship with you don’t fall for it.

Why not lock your car?

Hi

One of the phones was a cheap ten quid job that was my dads. He passed away and I just haven’t been able to get rid of it. It doesn’t even work.

The other was an old Nokia that I just forgot about.

The guy was a homeless drug user to be fair and didn’t do any damage but the theft of my stuff was on a list of many. I wouldn’t have been looking for prosecution if it had been down to me to be honest but hey..........

I thought I had locked the car but I may have just forgotten to do it. I’ll be checking in future.

Th Police asked me to do a victim impact statement but I turned it down cos I didn’t want to make it worse for him and I have actually been bothered by it.

Cheers

All good.

Just remember, old Nokia's, Toyota's, '90s Saracens and SP3 NovaCraft canoes are the only thing to survive the zombie apocalypse.

Sounds like your homeless guy may also do rather well.

Came home this evening to find some old bloke walking up the steps from our flat. Assumed he'd delivered something, as he had something under his arms he might have briefly used to carry stuff. He looked a bit aimless however so I asked if he was alright. He said he'd found this mirror (which now I was closer looked like the top of a coffee table from Argos) and he was going to engrave it so it shimmered as he was a glass cutter. Ok. He found it over there AND down there. Really? He likes to ask if he can take stuff. I see. As I went down to put my bike in the shed I noticed piss against the door. After asking him 4 times if he'd pissed down there he said he had. I kinda gave up at that point and he walked away.

He is a homeless addict on the streets who is wandering around stealing stuff. This time it was nothing you cared about but what about next time? Ignoring the situation does not address it. What was the intention of the potential police action?

I can entirely empathise with the OP

I wouldn't notice if a tramp was sleeping in my car either.

Hi

i appreciate what he is but have personal experience of someone with an addiction and the problems it can cause if someone doesn’t have support.

My car is actually in really nice condition inside and I’ve never noticed so it shows he hasn’t been that malicious and has done no damage previously.

I am happy for him to be prosecuted but am not going to make something up unnecessarily to kick someone further than he needs to be.

The police have just been round to return my stuff and he has been bailed with a condition to not come back to our town so that suits me.

Cheers

Steve

There could be one in mind right now and I wouldn’t notice. Really need to clean out the car at some point soon before one of the kids goes missing for good.

Edit: Actually, maybe not to an unknown audience.

If a homeless person slept in our car, they'd eat like a king given the amount of food our kids seemingly just throw around the car rather than put in their mouths.

My last car was so grim, tramps refused to sleep in it.

Blimey, if a homeless person had been sleeping in my car I'm dead certain I'd have noticed the smell. Even a clean person leaves a smell after a night in a car.

What a wonderful caring society we live in today, when someone clearly needs help just kick em out of our town & send them on their way. Not our problem anymore! Hooray.
