Delivered at 2pm, driven home then back to the office today and parked on a quiet side street.
And some $%^& has just driven down the side of it this lunchtime – that's about 22 hours after getting it and <10 miles driven.

Foreign plates?
Gary_M - no - that one has been rolled several times already though 🙂

Slight thread hijack... but how does a business lease work if you have a Ltd Co and are on VAT flat rate scheme?
Ouch!
I reversed into the side of a car at the weekend. Only bumper damage to mine, pretty much rote off the little Yaris though.
No one around, knocked on a few doors to find the owner to no avail.
Could have got away with it, but you know what? Who the hell does that?
I left a note with my number, got a call the next day. Insurance is doing what its paid to do. Have spoken to the third party a few times to see how their end of the claim is going and have been chasing up my insurance on their behalf.
Everyone makes mistakes and has accidents, I don't understand why people need to be a total dick about it by not fessing up.
How could you do that twice in the one weekend 🙂

Gets awkward when you don't have insurance
The drink and the drugs Gary. The drink and the drugs.
The offending vehicle also damaged the car opposite me and there was no note left on that car either – there is no doubt they must have known what they had done.
And this comes just 4 months after another car went down the side of my last car but fortunately that was spotted by a 3rd party and it went through insurance once they had admitted liability (that happened on a busier road and since then I have been parking on the quieter side roads and walking further in).
Commiserations.
Some **** threw a small rock at my sub-12 hour old new (and first) car once and put s a small dent in the door (Fiat Punto). I'm not a mentalist and he was with about 10 of his equally nuts mates (can we still say nuts today). He was behind a fence on Bradford** ring road but a game of scally-skittles did cross my mind for about half a second.
** That was my mistake right there.
I feel your pain o.p as I had the same thing happen to mine within a week of buying it 11 years ago. It was never the same and I have literally just sold it last night.
And practically the only mark on it was the bloody rust around the wheel arch from where the body shop repaired it! It still makes my blood boil!!
Yep - feel your pain too.
We bought a new car once - We picked it up from the dealers late saturday afternoon.
Drove to the local pub in it that evening. Came out of the pub an hour later and it had been stolen!
We'd not even had it 6 hours.
And my current car - although 2nd hand someone keyed it 5 days after I got it. All down one side, across 4 panels. It's still like this 2 years on as I didn't want to claim on insurance to get it fixed.

Good point - my wife's car was within a few hundred £££s of being written off when it was just a few weeks old too- that was 10 years ago and we still have it as a second runaround car.

I was expecting this tale to go on to say something like...
"I wrote this message on a bit of paper to make any curtain twitchers think I'm leaving my insurance details, after accidentally hitting your car. Sorry about that!" 😆

You can reclaim the VAT on the deposit if its over a grand. Thereafter you can't reclaim any of it. It might be worthwhile swapping to the regular scheme. IANAA
John: that sounds properly $4¦t.
Yep - properly spoilt my day. The most annoying thing is that it is my wife that will be driving it normally, but circumstances dictated I was in it today. When she has it, it goes in a nice secure car park in an allotted bay (so if any damage *did* happen there, she'd know who did it).
Hey ho.
I feel your pain, even it the driver had admitted it it would still be seriously annoying.
Not quite the same level but when I got my current car new in 2014 someone managed to put a decent sized door whack in the wing within the first week. Why is it so difficult for some people to open a f'ing door?
Just cleaned it as my be px'ing tomorrow and noticed the whack, just as I do most days and it still pee'd me right off.
