OK, Jessica wassernamethesedays is in good stuff usually, but for some reason I don't like the look of this.. help me out. Where does it sit in the below comedy scale (What I just made up)?

1 - Fast Show
2 - Harry Enfield & Chums
3 - Nighty Night
4 - Green Wing
5 - The Office
6 - Shameless
7 - The Thick of It
8 - Only Fools and Horses
9 - Mrs Brown's Boys

If you've not watched it, you'd probably be better off going and looking up the first few series and also the offshoot, 2012 (similar premise but about the 2012 Olympics Delivery team).

It's better than quite a few in your list. And not as good as some of them.

Well you should - and largely for Jessica wassernamethesedays as she's really good in it

If your scale had 'People Like Us' on it then [url=

Mallard would tell you that it fits around about there in a round about manor.

If the Fast Show is the apogee of your comedy universe (I can only assume how the scale works from the obvious marker at number 9), then W1A might not be for you, especially given your inexplicably low positioning of The Thick of It.

As someone who used to work at Television Centre, it's both hilarious and terrifyingly accurate.

the offshoot, 2012

Didn't 2012 come first, then W1A?

You're suppsed to give it a number!

Wouldn't help me cos I've never seen it 😉

I can only assume how the scale works from the obvious marker at number 9

no, you've misinterpreted my scale, which is (loosely) style based. 😀

It probably did - just that it shares quite a few of the cast in common - so worth watching both.

If the Fast Show is the apogee of your comedy universe

I must say, it's still probably the funniest sketch show ever.
So no dissing the Fast Show, right.

It's right up there. I find it both hilarious and terrifyingly accurate in equal measure, as having spent years as a freelance designer I have encountered plenty of Siobhan Sharpe's in plenty of trying-too-hard Perfect Curve environments

You think that level of utter twoddle is exaggerated for comic effect? It really isn't. These people walk amongst us. Particularly in the Northern Quarter! 😀

The raccoon is already in the trash-can here guys!

Just remembered a good friends B-i-L was a commissioning editor for R4 and the level of vapid guff he used to spout as though it was what the real world was like used to reduce us to gasping like fish out of water, it made any W1A scene look like mundane real world stuff!!!

Worst. Scale. Ever.

Only cos you don't understand it 🙂

Quite enjoyed that. Must catch up with the older ones. I'd put it on the 4.7 region on the misunderstood scale of much confusion.

Thanks for wasting half an hour of my life, I guess it's not surprising that a bunch of humourless lefties might find that amusing, God help us all if it really is as bad as that, no wonder poor old Clarkson had to lay one of them out. Captain Flasheart? Really? Pathetic sod.

So, who watched it?

That final conversation at the hotel room door was a performance of transcendental genius.

Who would have thought that so much layered meaning, nuance and intention could be packed into

"Oh".
"Yes".
"No, yes".
"So..."
"No. Yes, no yes".

Very strong. 8)

Thanks for PSA, I thought it was a repeat so didn't bother. Now I know better

Thx

Not up to 2012 but a good piss take nonetheless

Is Exocet one of the many who have been silenced recently. Scary level of censorship/suppression going on
