Holy shet! W1A returns next week!
Let's roll the tortoise on this one, OK?
mmm, yah, absolutely
Shure, yeah.
You really ought to have a p flashy, with the amount of blithering nonsense you post you must use half the bandwidth yourself!
Have you lost weight?
Very strong.
Yeah, shuuuure, no. Yeah.
We luuuuuurve Strictly...
We don’t sell crab cakes in a sausage factory.
...the thing is. Yeah. So here's the thing. The thing being that the thing is...
Back at 10pm tonight. 😀
Ohhh, sure yeaaaaah, that's totally on message.
OK, Jessica wassernamethesedays is in good stuff usually, but for some reason I don't like the look of this.. help me out. Where does it sit in the below comedy scale (What I just made up)?
1 - Fast Show
2 - Harry Enfield & Chums
3 - Nighty Night
4 - Green Wing
5 - The Office
6 - Shameless
7 - The Thick of It
8 - Only Fools and Horses
9 - Mrs Brown's Boys
If you've not watched it, you'd probably be better off going and looking up the first few series and also the offshoot, 2012 (similar premise but about the 2012 Olympics Delivery team).
It's better than quite a few in your list. And not as good as some of them.
OK, Jessica wassernamethesedays is in good stuff usually, but for some reason I don't like the look of this.
Well you should - and largely for Jessica wassernamethesedays as she's really good in it
If your scale had 'People Like Us' on it then [url=
Mallard would tell you that it fits around about there in a round about manor.
If the Fast Show is the apogee of your comedy universe (I can only assume how the scale works from the obvious marker at number 9), then W1A might not be for you, especially given your inexplicably low positioning of The Thick of It.
As someone who used to work at Television Centre, it's both hilarious and terrifyingly accurate.
the offshoot, 2012
Didn't 2012 come first, then W1A?
It's better than quite a few in your list. And not as good as some of them.
You're suppsed to give it a number!
If your scale had 'People Like Us' on it
Wouldn't help me cos I've never seen it 😉
I can only assume how the scale works from the obvious marker at number 9
no, you've misinterpreted my scale, which is (loosely) style based. 😀
You're suppsed to give it a number!
Twelfty

Ditto.
Didn't 2012 come first, then W1A?
It probably did - just that it shares quite a few of the cast in common - so worth watching both.
If the Fast Show is the apogee of your comedy universe
I must say, it's still probably the funniest sketch show ever.
So no dissing the Fast Show, right.
It's right up there. I find it both hilarious and terrifyingly accurate in equal measure, as having spent years as a freelance designer I have encountered plenty of Siobhan Sharpe's in plenty of trying-too-hard Perfect Curve environments
You think that level of utter twoddle is exaggerated for comic effect? It really isn't. These people walk amongst us. Particularly in the Northern Quarter! 😀
The raccoon is already in the trash-can here guys!

Look binbins, let's not bore the ocean this evening ok?

Just remembered a good friends B-i-L was a commissioning editor for R4 and the level of vapid guff he used to spout as though it was what the real world was like used to reduce us to gasping like fish out of water, it made any W1A scene look like mundane real world stuff!!!
That was a right larf. 😆
Yes, absolutely, yes.
Worst. Scale. Ever.
Only cos you don't understand it 🙂
Quite enjoyed that. Must catch up with the older ones. I'd put it on the 4.7 region on the misunderstood scale of much confusion.
Thanks for wasting half an hour of my life, I guess it's not surprising that a bunch of humourless lefties might find that amusing, God help us all if it really is as bad as that, no wonder poor old Clarkson had to lay one of them out. Captain Flasheart? Really? Pathetic sod.

Maybe ask nurse to loosen the restraints a little so you can reach the remote control.
Really? Pathetic sod.
*Fan mail*
a bunch of humourless lefties
Captain Flasheart
😆
Maybe you just need a light comedy that relates more closely to your own working surroundings and personal experiences...

Welcome to the forum - you'll go far on here
So, who watched it?
That final conversation at the hotel room door was a performance of transcendental genius.
Who would have thought that so much layered meaning, nuance and intention could be packed into
"Oh".
"Yes".
"No, yes".
"So..."
"No. Yes, no yes".
Very strong. 8)
PS: exocet is a poltroon.
Thanks for PSA, I thought it was a repeat so didn't bother. Now I know better
Thx
Not up to 2012 but a good piss take nonetheless
Is Exocet one of the many who have been silenced recently. Scary level of censorship/suppression going on

I'm not drunk.
The old girl recorded it. So just got in, G&T and cheese and bikkies and time to catch up
Scary level of censorship? Might that explain where half of this lot went ? (I once researched the place for another publisher who was bent on acquisition at the time, a few years back now.

So that's all good then.
Look, I'm not being funny or anything, but episode two is on tonight.
(I've already seen it, so, like, cool yeah, cool. OK. )
yep - him. good call.
My partner doesn't get W1A at all - a bit marmite I guess,
exocet so proud to be a major irritant on your list. Didn't think anyone cared... you ok hun?
What does Tony think?
Well yes. Exactly.
Woah. New series?
On the catchup type internet download web connected services, yes? no? yes?
Meanwhile, in the real world, I just heard the word exfiltrate used with a straight face.
On the catchup type internet download web connected services, yes? no? yes?

Ah, the humourectomy proved successful, then!
So pleased for you.
