Nothing....its a normal day in my opinion and I don't need a pre-defined day to do the things I would do for my wife on any other day of the year!

Each to his own and all that 🙂

this was waiting for me when I got back from my meeting today as she was home all day as doing night shifts this week:

Raspberries in the sponge and white chocolate cream filling.

Just on my 2nd slice with a cup of tea, the left ventricle is well gone and now tucking into the left atrium 😀

I hate it when people parp out this tripe. If you don't get "sucked in" by it, good for you, no need to bleat about it.
And what about those couples who do need Valentine's Day to make a romantic gesture? What if Valentine's Day actually helps couples remember what they mean to each other?
My wife's at her mother's. And yes, I do need a hug.

I bough the missus tickets to see Nick Cave... Turns out she doesn't like Nick Cave as much as I do. That's a shame.

I gave my wife a Slipstream for 40k on a road ride and then *ahem* let her win little hill sprint at the end.

Then we had some takeaway noodles.

I treat my lady right.

Bottle of fizz (English fizz no less), cooked some lamb cutlets, finished with some salted caramel shortbread thing and then curled up on the sofa. Happy days.

I got bought a shirt, not for Valentine's apparently, just because she saw it and thought i'd like it. She got bought some Eastpak luggage for a big holiday we have planned.

Frankly, it was a great evening, only shame was it was Thursday not Friday so I couldn't open the Port as I have to be at work this morning!

I'm not a huge romantic and don't expect big gestures, but my oh claimed that he 'couldn't find any cards', gave me some chocolates from the shop at the end of the road (which sold cards last time I looked), spent theevening swearing while trying to fit new mudguards then came to bed late.

A bit more effort than that would have been nice! I didn't get him much, but at least I'd thought about it in advance and cooked something nice for him.

I did the flowers, card, bottle of Proseco, followed by a meal in an Indian restaurant.

She moaned about work the whole evening and that pissed me off.

We ended up breaking up!

That'll teach me for making the effort! 😆

I should add that I refuse to buy the things that Valentine's day makes money on - like flowers, cards, chocolates....

So I bought an alternative card - a With Sympathy card, which gave my apologies for having to put up with me at home 🙂

The missus got me some lovely coffee beans, and some Eau de Toilet, which I've been meaning to buy for about 3 years - but had bike things to buy.

My Wife delivered this to work...

And I had to carry it back to my desk...in an office of 30 blokes.
(One of the balloons took flight when I opened the door).
