I'm in Cheshire for Xmas and thinking about popping down for a bimble up Snowdon - maybe the Watkin path, or maybe the Glyders. I've 30+ winter Munroes under my belt so fine with the winter conditions, got axe and crampons...

Its white on the mountain tops at the moment, trail centers ok though.

Edit: just read your post again, should be ok for hiking if you are experienced.

Have a look at UKclimbing, There is a continuous thread about winter conditions in Snowdonia there.

Was climbing there ovr the weekend, there's loads of fresh up there and starting to get a bit icy with the NW wind. Though IRC, the forecast is milder this week so plenty of time for it to disappear 🙁

Someone was killed on Y Garn this weekend - fell through a cornice, presume above the upper cirque 🙁
