Tripadvisor seems pretty down on Snowcard since they aligned with Allianz

I'm after annual cover for me & the wife (inc ski & bike - not north america)

Going to get quotes from Dogtag and Snowcard but any tips/experience would be much appreciated

Allianz are the underwriters for alot of the holiday insurance providers. The problem seems to be more with the claims management company that they and other companies use who arent very good at helping with a claim.

Thanks Tracey - yeah, I did wonder (Snowcard site is heavily emblazoned with "Allianz Assistance" which I assume is just that)

No recent experience (of a claim) thankfully.

Last time I had to use them in anger was 20 years ago, after a little mishap, in the bottom of a river gorge in the jungle in South America. That time they were excellent.

Worth checking on any holiday insurance who will be handling the claim.

This is who they use

Have used Snowcard for years as they spell out clearly their off piste definitions.
however after trip to US last April I am now 10months into trying to get paid on a claim for a simple Dr’s appointment. Yep Allianz.
They have approved the claim, I have just never seen the cash. Laughable amounts of phone ping pong.
Snowcard couldn’t be less interested in helping, they couldn’t back away fast enough.

so, SC can do one. A $200 payout but they have lost a 10yr family global policy customer.

Blimey, this reads really bad for SnowCard. I was going to use them for my upcoming ski hols and alps biking but I’ll look elsewhere. Thanks for the heads up.

I was also going to consider using Snowcard for trips this year. Used Yellow Jersey last year, but now I come to look they are also Allianz and CSAL. So, who should we be using?

for family ski trips this year I am trying mpi brokers, as they are local(ish) and came recommended.

Hopefully their claims are as simple as their policy wording.

Used Snowcard for our Alps biking trip last year but not so keen on using them this year after reading some of the comments. Who should I use instead?

AVOID: Used snowcard for my last european ski trip feb 2023. Absolute **** show at munich airport due to industrial action and a go slow by the staff resulting in missed flights and a sleep over on the airport floor. Definitely worthy of a claim on the travel insurance. Allianz still have not dealt with it.

Saddle Skedaddle pointed us to Campbell Irving for our E Bike trip in Italy this year I think we used them when we went with Cycle active as well. No experience of claiming though thankfully.
