I've done a short ride on the 'Dale and once again cursed my decision to sell my Fatty. I work from home anyway so the novelty wore of 10 months ago. I'm hammering the Aeropress and plinking away on guitar through Guitar Rig as I stare at the webs. What you at?

Staying warm between feeding sheep. I also put the plus wheels back on the bike in anticipation of a mountain ride in the snow tomorrow 🙂

Its a day when I work from home as usual but clients don't go into the office so I have no work streaming in. D'Oh!

In typical fashion, having worked from home all year so far, the last few days I've actually had to get dressed and go and actually do the traditional office-based form

So if you're looking for someone to blame for the snow, I'm your man

actually working (now!).

Cleared the road for a while, but then the snow has come again, and my nice clean bits have another inch on top of them

Going to work (late turn) after a horrible slushfest of a ride this morning.  Melting everywhere on the South Downs over Eastbourne.

minus 9 here last night and outside thermometer currently reading minus 1, only a light covering of snow from a few days ago. Local trails are an icefest due melt and refreeze so giving them a miss for now 🙁

Been to work home now thanks to half day Fridays. Dog walk on the green but frosty grass, might see if I can get high enough to get to the snowline.

Left for work, a fifteen mile commute to Westbury along the A350, at just after 6am for my 7am shift this morning. Around 12-15cm of snow on the car. Got in to find only one other member of the yard Logistics team had arrived, the rest had phoned in claiming it was too iffy to drive.
Seeing as how several live in Trowbridge, which is right next door to Westbury, I was sceptical. My team supervisor lives in Melksham, roughly halfway between Chippenham and Westbury, right next to the main road, however he does drive a BMW so I’ll give him a pass.
We had four or five platers (car delivery drivers) turn up, which was a surprise, one had to get back to London to do some car inspections, which I didn’t envy.
Another team member got in at around 8.00, then the powers-that-be took the wise decision to shut the site, so I left at 9.00.
I get a full day’s pay for two hour’s work, which I’m fine with - everyone else who didn’t come in gets nothing, or else has to use a days holiday.
😬

Spent the morning finishing the window cleaning on an 11 storey block, roof was covered in snow and water was freezing onto ropes towards bottom.
Then off to a council office to aid climb across the inside of the roof to get to an internal downpipe that was pouring water into the building and clip it back into place.
So I’ve been cold and wet, hot and wet and am finally back in the office (my lounge) to send some invoices off before cracking a beer.

Cycled in as per normal. No snow in Central London by my office but a couple of inches at home. Snow was fresh at 6.45 this morning so easy to ride on, then was on gritted main roads. Not sure what it'll be like on the way home but should be fine. Beast from the East was far worse than this, I'm still living in hope that it will be like that. I love Snow

Working, pub nice and busy from everyone that felt it was "too risky" to go to work. The lure of a pie and a pint is strong in this weather. 🙂 Every cloud etc.

Working, well, trying to look busy.

Despite an Amber Weather Warning it largely missed us, we had a 1cm or two but it's almost all gone now. Seems all our clients took it seriously though because we're dead.

Youngest's school closed yesterday hours before the snow arrived and opened again at 1pm today, She was NOT happy about going in ha ha.

I've never heard of this "snow day" thing until the last couple of weeks. We all took laptops, VoIP headsets home last night so we could work from home.

Absolutely blitzed it thanks to less stupid distractions and billed more than a month's worth of money in a single day, as well as lining up similar for the rest of the month. **** lazing around, £££££ to be made!

Pretty much! With added incentive of getting to clients' budgets ahead of competitors because they're having a "snow day" and not chasing the money....

Luckily my work rota meant I wasn't in, hopefully all posties working in this grim stuff stayed safe. I think I'm about to get ready for a turbo session in the kitchen, hopefully it's not snowing in there... 😈

Congratulated myself for picking a cracking day for a day in lieu by going for a snowy and sunny ride in the Pentlands.

I visited my wife's school in Carmarthen and called in to see gnusmas for a cuppa and a good chat. Even in this weather he continues to be in shorts. Bonkers.

I'm stuck working whilst the South Downs, 2 miles away, are covered in snow and my fat bike is in the garage. It's all a bit wet now though so not sure I'll bother heading out tonight.

I went for a little play on the bike. It was slow going in the fresh deep snow but the compacted snow on some fire roads and lanes was great to ride on. I had much fun on a long straight downhill getting up as much speed as possible and then jamming my rear brake on and seeing how far I could slide. Big kid.

No snow days in my job. We have to go to work. We are expected to walk up to 5 miles and if our own workplace is too far report to the nearest hospital. during beast from the east local 4x4 clubs ran a taxi service. We are even expected , nay required to sleep over at work if needed.

Yeah but you actually drive. They meant drinking tea and watching homes under the hammer.

Out on the bike! The trials round me are very sandy and a light sprinkling of snow firms them up nicely

I finished my day watching The House with a Clock in the Walls. A Jack Black performance that didn’t annoy me and Cate Blanchett looking stunning.

Snow? Just another day; no big deal. Looking at trip to moscow mid-march; should still be proper winter weather.
My younger Son lives in upstate NY on southern shore of Lake Ontario; properly cold with heavy snow.
Everyone goes to work; as above, no big deal.

Nice ride yesterday, but as of about 5am today the whole house has come down with a vomitting bug 🤮

Not much fun clearing up after a toddler and 5 yr old who are puking themselves dry when you yourself are constantly on the verge of blowing chunks.

Hopefully it's just a 24 hour one.

Parent's evening cancelled on Thursday night so brought a crate of work home 'just in case'. Alfined Pugsley with Nate's & dynamo ready to go so headed up onto the Ridgeway at 7:00pm hunting for the promised snow. Started snowing at 8:45pm as I was on the return leg. Dusting on roads and paths by the time I got home at ten.

Up early on Friday to allow extra time to get to work, but 3 inches on the ground by 6:30am and heavier to come meant we were told not to go in. Two walks, lots of coffee & pastries with my wife, then a night time local loop via Croft Woods (I salute you both who laid tracks there before me) in the evening. Snow was fantastic and around 6 inches deep. Awesome. I love Nates.

A bit tired today, but lovely and sunny so two long walks with the wife, cleared some snow, checked the bike over for tomorrow, considered building another Pugs and watched the ISS go over just now. Pizza is almost ready and bottle of Tribute by the cooker. Minus nine forecast for sunny Swindon overnight.
