I'm getting sick of it. I've always got a bit snotty in cold weather, everyone does right? But it's ridiculous now, I have to stop all the bloody time to blow my nose, otherwise it would just end up all over my face! I went through a whole pack of Kleenex (fnar) at llandegla today. I can't breathe through my nose at all on a ride, I can't even walk to work without getting bunged up.

Anyone got any tips for snot reduction!?

The Yorkshire Dales, North York Moors etc are covered in 30 years worth of my snot.
If youv’e got time to blow your nose in a tissue your’e stopping too often.
You need to learn the ‘double barrelled snotgun’ technique.

Ditch the dairy. Makes a difference for a lot of people and very easy to give it a go

Ditch the dairy sounds interesting, could give that a go relatively easily I reckon.

I get the snot rocket thing obviously, bit it doesn't address the excessive volume I'm knocking out! I'd be doing it every 5 minutes!

Antihistamine?

I suffer badly with early season hayfever and one tablet every other day did the trick until end of last year when I was diagnosed with rhinitis and prescribed antihistamine, which didn't seem to work as well as the off the shelf stuff but now I'm out the other side of whatever pollen it is that gets me, the taps have now switched off!

A good fitting pair of specs might help

Same here. Once I get on the bike my nose just runs. Not heavy stuff, just like a permanent tap has been turned on in my nose. Gloves need regular washing because the snot dries nice and stiff!!

Give it a go if you think you've got nothing to lose, but it's generally accepted that it's a false claim first made by Moses Maimonides 800 years ago.

I suspect that are more likely to have success using Mometasone Furoate nasal spray.

Every 5 minutes? I wish! If it's even slightly chilly out and I'm exercising, my nose is pretty much a snotty gatling gun.

Snot rockets - another that gets runny noses. Just watch where you are snotting - i.e. check behind.

I have the same issue and rhinitis in general I've tried dairy free, wheat free and dairy and wheat free diets with no success. But it is worth a try as diet seems to help some.

I just enjoy getting a real good jet now 😀

Irritation makes the eyes water, so why not try some closer-fitting glasses? You could also try a Clarityn half an hour before riding to see if that makes a difference.

All this stuff about dairy-free and wheat-free really is the biggest bollocks out - why would something your stomach digests cause your eyes to water?

Diet does not help everyone (including me) but it does some, it's not bollox, so is worth a trial.

You might as well say how can diet make your leg rot off, or you go blind (diabetes), or why can diet make you choke and die (anaphylaxis)....

Antihistamines solve the nasal issue for me, but I have to use them as a last resort as regardless of the type they make me feel so awful and drugged.

A nice gentlemanly hanky for polite company and roaring snot rockets for biking and hiking 😀

oxymetazoline, ask for it at the pharmacist, it's a vaso-constrictor. Can cause rebound congestion if you use it too much.  comes in a dropper pot you stick up your nose. Use sparingly

pseudoephedrine hydrochloride , it's a decongestant. again available at the pharmacist without prescription.

Exercise induced rhinitis.

That's what buffs were invented for.
Just ring it out after each ride.
