I appear to have reached the point where my snoring is keeping my wife awake at night. I know I am carrying a bit of additional timber and this is something I am working on but are any of the shorter term remedies out there anything other than snake oil?

Has anyone found a solution that doesn't involve the spare room? (there's even less chance of a special cuddle if I move in there 😉 )

You know you might be surprised by the impact of a full nights sleep can have on someone's libido.

Other than weight loss for you and ear plugs for her the only thing that I have found that might work is to make sure she goes to bed first and gets to sleep first. Oh and cut out the booze completely if you are partial to a drink.

Prior to the aforementioned weightloss (chub club thread is open for 2020) I used some silicon things from amazon Snore stoppers

They weren't that fun to wear, but you get used to them and they seemed to work well.

Somnoguard mouthpiece , the really expensive one for about 150 quid.

British snoring website sells them.

Separate rooms. It’s the only effective solution. Otherwise rolling Mrs TiRed overland hoping I go to sleep before she rolls back! And vice versa.

I used to snore loads, I now sleep on my front and snore far less. Unfortunately though our dog sleeps on the floor next to me, and as he is allergic to everything, he really snores! So ear plugs work well. Some do have a tendency to fall out, and I have woken up one morning with one between my cheeks...no idea how it got there.

Apparently I was a big snorer.

Fast800 diet and 22kg weight loss (106kg to 84kg) in 9 weeks, which also included 9 weeks without booze and apparently I’m a changed man. So the weight loss thing does not have to be a very long term goal if you put your mind to it.

When I was chubby sleeping on my side was the only way for me to sleep through the night without waking up to bruised ribs and a cross wife.

100% what convert says, lose the beef. 25kg weight loss, and I haven't had a drink in nigh on 2 years, has seen me a non snorer.
