Has anybody tried smokeless logs ... am thinking about getting some for a fire pit as can't stand smelling of smoke for days after using normal wood.
My neighbour put me onto them and had a look at Amazon for some reviews but they seem to vary quite a bit, when he 1st got his a couple of years ago he said they were good but the last time he used them they'd been sitting in a shed in the garden for a couple of years and he said they were quite smokey ... not sure if that was just because some moisture had got into them.
I've posted a link below to teh ones he had, be interested to hear other people's experience with them and how smokey ther actually are and also if there are any better ones out there
Where in the as does it mention they are smokeless?
Those ones give off an oily smoke when you light them but they absolutely light first time, every time and have a long burn time. We combine them with the Homefire Heat Logs (compressed sawdust) that burn pretty cleanly, pretty hot but for a shorter burn. Both put out quite a lot of flame and when they're done they don't spend a long time as embers.
IME, you will still smell of smoke from a firepit whatever you do. Unless you've got some sort of managed airflow, it is hard for firepits to burn hot enough to burn cleanly.
We use them as well. Burn a bit smokey at first but soon stops. Cheapest I have found is Home Bargains at about 99p each

No apologies it doesn't in that advert but does in the Amazon for the same product .... I'd been googling to find the cheapest / smallest amount to test and when I went to copy and paste a link happened upon the e-bay page 1st and didn't check to make sure it read exactly the same.
