Can anyone suggust as to who offers the best tariffs for a small office based business? Not keen on these comparrison websites as from my own experience you then tend to get bombarded with texts, phone calls and searches on your credit rating.
I'd get a quote off a few of the big-6 and then try a couple of the independents.
Price Depends on a few factors. How much electricity do you use per year? Any gas?
Ecotricy will do small business quotes.... worked out cost-netural for us compared to the big boys and service is great. As above though '...it depends...' so there is little choice but to shop around for the best deal.
don't get caught out . Business contracts do not have the same protection as consumer ones. Read the small print!. Many revert to a high rate after twelve months and it's up to you to give notice and renegotiate well in advance.
Yes, have been with the present supplier for ten years and never signed a contract. However each year, I apparently have to give effectively 3 months notice.
scamper ^^^ because each and every year your supplier has to commit to contracts to secure power for you to consume. With recession, change of behaviour and failing businesses thats a fairly onerous and costly exercise! If your not going to be there you are expected to tell them.
But that's no different to any business, trying to judge future staffing or raw material usage.
Trust me it's different.
Back to the orginal question. You do need to move or at least renegotiate. If you've been inert for 10 yrs you're probably not getting the best that's out there.
