Ages ago someone on here mentioned they do powder coating on a commercial basis, I thought it'd taken their details but can't find them so this is sort of a wanted ad.
I'm looking for small quantities of alu extrusion powder coated, in this case 3.6m length but variable sizes in theory up to 6m.
Hopefully someone will either say "it's me, we do that" or "it's them, they do that"
Cheers
If you are any where near Plymouth / Roborough, then I know a man who can on a commercial basis
Plymouth is a ways from here but transport isn't an issue so long as someone is able to receive and repack at the other end, if you wouldn't mind dropping me a message with details would be great and I'll drop them a line of they're ok with me doing so.
I just take our parts to a local place in Reading, they happily do 1 part, 20 parts or hundreds of them, surely there must be a local place to you?
Not sure that many small powder coaters could handle work pieces up to 6m long.
Remember, the powder needs to be applied to a 'warm' item, and then heated in order to cure the powder off to its glossy uniform finish.
An oven is required for both these processes, along with a 6m plus long powder application area.
They will be around, perhaps trying companies that handle architectural parts or window frame parts, shop front parts etc.

Indeed. I seem to remember a conversationwith a chap off here along the lines of "we can help with your 18m runs and your 18km runs". Definitely I'm expecting anyone able to do 6m here and there will not be a small powder coater.
Inevitably though i tend to go looking when I've odds and ends because it doesn't matter that the bigger folks are inflexible when I'm doing a few thousand peices.

It's not nessiceraly a sealed oven, the ones I've been shown round have all been a production line style arrangement where the parts are sprayed and then pass through the 'oven' which consists of big gas fired ceramic radiators. So I presume you could pass an almost infinitely long part through it?
