IMO doesn't work very well unless you boil off the alcohol first

Ignore the above comment about the alcohol.

Use the curry ingredients of your choice.
Drink the red wine while it cooks.

Dry January means no drinking allowed so want to use what's left of the bottle we opened for someone yesterday

When cooked in a slow cooker I can guarantee there will be no alcohol left. But if you boil the wine first whatever you have will taste bloody awful.

I tried this one last month, it was splendid with some nice creamy mash.

Lamb, redcurrent jelly, bay leaves, beef stock, red wine, pepper. 6 hours.

Thicken with a little corn flour.
