SWMBO has purchased a new hairdryer, but the length of the cable is sub-optimal. At the moment the solution is to move the mirror rather than use the extension lead, (no, I have no clue why the extension lead isn't a permanent fix -IT'S JUST NOT) so I need to lengthen it.
The internals look like a recipe for having (me) to buy a new dryer it if I try a complete replacement, so I'd like a really slim, 2 core in-line junction box. Anyone know where to get such a thing? My first backup plan is to make a soldered joint well insulated with heat shrink tubing. My second backup plan is to strangle her with the flex.
Ta.
Well I'd suggest a lawnmower inline connector, AS LONG AS the hairdryer is not earthed. However, make sure the live end is not the one with the pins!
If you want slimmer, there are connectors you can get so you can chop all the cables off your power tools and have a 50cm lead on them all, and then you can just use a couple of 'extension' leads for all your tools. Not sure what they are called but seen a couple of YouTube videos where people have done their whole workshops.
Chocolate block and some of that heat shrink wrap stuff, oh and tell her not to get near the bath with it.
Thanks all. I'd already seen that type rene59, but they are still 25mm dia. Latest thinking is to move the mirror. 🤔
Just solder and heat shrink it (just remember to heat shrink the individual wires first!)
