never tried, our alternative is a duvet and sheet, sometimes 2 duvets one under one above. Works fine and normally found in most houses 🙂

Never used one, but a comfort temp of 9 degrees and almost 2kg??? 😯

Would be hard to cool down too surely, when the tent is warmer.

Honestly can't imagine a single benefit of this over a regular bag to be honest.

I didn't even know they existed but my wife would love one of them just to sit in the house (i'm very stingy with the heating).

Will the car be close? Can you just bring your duvet/blankets along?

Looks awful IMHO.

I can only sleep if something is covering me, even if its just a sheet..

We had Zoot Suits like that when working down in the Falklands.- Great for purpose, but I wouldn't want to use one to kip in. Well, other than on NAFFI breaks..

Those body bags look a right nightmare especially if you get hot and need to hang a leg out. I tend to just open up my sleeping bag if its not too cold. Have a look at some camping quilts or down blankets - not cheap in the UK but very light. Couple here. The UK Hammocks stuff gets good reports and they look pretty good value.

How about something like this?

Feeling trapped in your sleeping bag? Hi Gear's Sleeping Pods give you extra room to spread out and relax.
Designed for those people who can't get used to sleeping in a traditional sleeping bag, Hi Gear Sleeping Pods are half as wide as they are long, so you've got room to move around inside without getting yourself in a tangle.

A friend has one and has used it a couple of times. They're not as warm as sleeping bags and a lot bulkier but he managed to sleep.

If you don't like sleeping bags because they are too restrictive try one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gelert-Sleeping-Pod-XL/dp/B004SL0WT6

I have one and it's really good.

I agree w Teetosugars. For some reason I have to sleep under something, even if it's boiling hot and that "something" is a sheet. I wouldn't sleep a wink in that thing !!

years ago I had a mummy sleeping bag with a 3/4 knackered zip - so I put it over me like a quilt, with my feet in the bottom pocket

Best thing ever!

Since then I've removed the zip from my regular sleeping bag and use it the same way, feet are toasty warm and top half isn't restricted, couldn't go back for the life of me.

I sometimes do what Zulu-11 says, unzip the bag and use it like a duvet with a closed cell foam and thermarest underneath. Altho those XL wide sleeping bags look like they might do the job for you. Those Musuc bags look like a really stupid idea for reasons already stated.
I was going to suggest MTFU, but I've also had a few moments when twisted up in a sleeping bag liner, inside a sleeping bag, inside a bivi bag, with the hoods closed up.

I made a duvet out of pertex and goose down for lightweight touring. Married to a silk sleeping bag liner it packs small has a reasonable comfort temp and isnt nearly as restricting as a sleeping bag. This is a double but the prinicple for a single is straight forward.
