Currently I have BT for broadband which is pretty shonky. I also have two separate BT landlines, which service two home office numbers (mine and the OHs). We don't currently have any pay TV.

Was thinking about Sky for everything but feeling sick just trying to work out what the offers are!

Firstly, is the bb any good?
Secondly, would I lose the existing telephone numbers or would I have to pay BT for those as well?
Lastly, any idea what the monthly outlay would be for the best bb option together with TV that would have to include the kids channels and ALL sports (only reason I am looking at pay TV!).

Sorry to be lazy but its not the easiest thing to get your head around

Thanks

Sky broadband is good, my parents have it in Staffs and no problems.

I wouldn't have Sky tv it's just 9967 channels of crap.

If your BT broadband is shonky because it slows to a crawl in busy periods, then changing to Sky won't make any difference unless Sky have their own equipment in the local exchange...if there is a Openreach line rental charge then you know its going through the same equipment as it is now so don't bother.

If its shonky due to a poor quality line/faults, then changing to sky won't make any difference either. So only do it if your local exchange in unbundled and Sky has equipment installed. I'm sure google will tell you where your exchange is and whether its unbundled or not.

I'm with Sky. Broadband service is excellent (though they employ gibbons on first-line tech support).

You can migrate to Sky as your phone provider and / or line rental. I don't see any huge benefits over BT for either of these other than being nominally cheaper; however, taking Sky Talk gets a monthly reduction on your ADSL costs.

That said, if you want Sky TV, and it is cheaper for the broadband, you could end up paying less for the same poor service so still might be worth it. We kept the same number when we move the phone from BT->Tiscali->Sky so can't see that being a problem unless you have some business account that has very different terms and conditons.

Sky use different branding for this. "Everyday Lite" and "Unlimited" are the two LLU (own equipment) offerings; the former is capped at 2Gb / month download, the latter is truly unlimited. If you can't get the LLU package, it's called something else (I can't remember what off the top of my head now, Sky Connect or something similar IIRC).

sky is great especially if you get Sly+ which is a must

i have unlimited broadband just over 3mb speed and it has been faultless

we have the phone and the phone line rental with them.

All in we pay £32 a month, broadband, sky +, phone and rental.

haggle with them, i only pay £7 for unlimited broadband.
