I have an going problem with my sky hd box. The HD channels keep freezing crashing on a regular basis ( once every couple of weeks) meaning a reboot ,switch off etc.I have tried manual software update, reboot, new HDMI cable, clean up the planner and it still keeps happening.Often these updates etc temporarily solve the problem but it keeps returning. So anything else I can try or do I need a new box ( it's an amstrad about 5 years old)
Thanks for any help or advice.
Ed
I've been having similar issues, doing everything short of a full system reset; clearing out all deleted programmes, re-building the planner, etc.
There were a bunch of programmes that I'd recorded and kept, a couple because I hadn't got around to watching them, a couple because I thought I'd watch them again, so I went through them and deleted them, cleared everything out, did a planner re-build, and so far it seems to be behaving itself.
If the freezing/loss of listings after the current week/other crap happens again, then I'll do a full system reset, after that it'll be contacting Sky for a free replacement. A 2Tb version's £49 for a replacement/upgrade.
Info here, if you haven't already found it: http://help.sky.com/articles/problems-with-your-recordings-and-planner
Apologies if you've already gone through that.
Can't think of anything else, I'm afraid.

It was £149 last time I looked. Which is £149 more than I'd pay, I'd threaten to leave if they didn't replace it.
We have got the disappearing listing issue too.
Wife fixed it once but just returned again.
🙁
Mines throwing wobblies too but it is a good few years old now and I think the latest software is just too much for it to handle. It keeps freezing and I have to do a full reset to free it up pretty regularly - every other day or so. I'm ringing sky this week to ask for a free replacement and if they don't give it me i'm ditching it and cancelling my subscription.
Were people having these problems before this year?
Just wondering if it's new for everyone?
