Looking at buying this package for my kid.
Do i need a shop to mount these bindings or do they screw in like a snowboard?

Thanks.
I've never mounted any myself but there are markings on the skis as to where the bindings should be centered and yes they screw into the ski. The skis are not pre-drilled (as per boards I think)
from the FAQ
Will the bindings be mounted and set ?
During the process or your order, we'll ask you to complete a form about the mounting of your bindings. With these details, we will be able to mount the bindings with the correct settings. The release value of the bindings is set by a professional skiman, and according to the norm AFNOR FD S 52-748
Ahh.. I see.
I also need to know the boot length - grrr!
Much thanks.
Get Gliss to do it then if they ferk up, you aren't left with a set of scrap skis. Boot length? Are you planning on renting boots then? Most people buy boots first then skis though with kids they're obviously still growing. This clearly affects ski length as well.
Why don't you rent for a few years unless you have a growing tribe to hand me down to?
Yep a tribe. Apart from a annual trip to the mountains they snow dome and dryslope. The dryslope gear is ancient so for the price of a set of xt cranks I can get them kitted out in their own set of decent skis and boots. I just haven't got the boots yet - still looking on ebay etc. I board so I'm on a learning curve regarding how ski gear works.
Any tips are most welcome!!!
OP as far as I know ski boots come in standard sole lengths which cover a few sizes. In any case the bindings are adjustable for boot size, also if you know juniors shoe size you should be able to tell them and that should be enough.
Another vote for buying boots but renting skis, specially when they are younger. In fact boots are probably only going to last one holiday size wise
