Got mine from an Amazon 'for filled by Amazon' reseller, better returns if it turns out to be fake (which it didn't) and I'm very happy with it
Sample footage here -

and

Mine is actually the 4000+ wifi

Beware though, assuming it's not just mine then the sound quality is shite

Anyone tried one of these? Probably a better chance of not getting a fake.

sj4000 vs sj5000....?

going to bite the bullet on either one, but there is not much in it price wise.

SJ4000+wifi (it has image stabilisation over the 4000)

don't get the 5000 it was apparently not as good and they have discontinued firmware updates

Techmoan website has lots of good reviews on all the SJ series - http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2015/2/7/the-big-sj5000-action-camera-review.html
I used these reviews and the advice on his blogs to decide when getting mine

I recently bought an sjcam m10 (without wifi). Compared some film to a mates gopro hero (basic one). Would say the M10 had crisper quality film where the light is good. The gopro hero however, managed better with changes from hi/low light levels and in general was better under tree cover. Sound was similar - both had the full waterproof cases on.

Given the m10 cost £37 from eBay and the gopro is £100 then was pretty happy.

Until I dropped it a couple of weeks ago whilst still in its protective case. Not sure if a freak bit of damage, but the power button switch got damaged. This despite the outer case being unharmed and the actual button on the camera looking OK. This is definitely a genuine sjcam too - you can check online vs a code on the box once you've opened it.

No UK repairer can get parts for sjcam though - so it's currently in China for repair. Will see how that goes.

Got an SJ4000 from Amazon.
Picture quality is great, sound quality rubbish when its in the waterproof box.

(have to ignore silly youtube stabilising)

Chestmount is now broken, following the end of that second video up there....

Can anyone send me an amazon link to a genuine sj4000 wifi seller? How is the M10, I presume the difference is the battery, what life are you getting out of it?

Why don't you buy a xaiomi yi action cam? Good sensor and a decent app to link it all to your phone.
