If you were thinking about brightening up your zoom call or pain cave with some cycling art then this might interest you.

Scouting around online, most cycling art I found was either vintage, lacklustre, or just a little too cliche. But then glinting in the pile of dull there I found Stuart Storey's online gallery. The look and use of colour was incredible.

There's some great off the shelf stuff but much of it was based on areas I'd not really riden. I was keen to make it more meaningful and so I commissioned Stuart to create a few paintings based on some fave photos of mine.

Having never commissioned anything before and not really being at all arty, it could have been an awkward experience. It never go close to that. Stuart's comms were incredible, involving me all the way from concept sketches to daily updates, and really encouraging feedback along the way so adjustments could be made on the fly.

So I've just received the pics and got them up. The result is stunning. So much zing (my digi pics with reflection don't do it justice).

Not sure if deliberate, but the Winnats one looks like the rocky outcrop is grinning at the world of pain you're soon to be in.
I do like them though.

I’m a friend of Stu’s and really pleased to hear you like them, art is something he’s got back into and a new endeavour picked up again during lockdown - I’ll point him towards this thread as well.

I’ve not bought one yet but definitely will, I love the vibrancy and how they capture the location and the freedom of cycling.

we have this up in our living room , it's beautiful (we both think)

(I love those images above, too, would definitely want if hadn't gone a bit overboard with pictures during lockdown)

Well, it's hard to see links, so it looks like your pic didn't appear. So I thought I'd make it look like you and your lady have bad taste in art... ? No? Someone must've got it!!
(The best jokes are always the ones you have to explain.)
