Have subscribed since the first issue. Liked the Jamie Hibbard article and the group ride / snacking one.
Personally extremely disinterested in e bikes and especially 13,000 pound e bikes.
Appreciate that some people like that kind of thing.
I think acoustic magazines have had their day
Indeed, thanks for the fish
To balance my earlier criticism of printing and my lack of interest in evokes:
Pete Scullion is always worth a read and the usual mix of inspiration, people and places is pretty much up to scratch.
Yes I also find 'acoustic' very jarring. My thoughts go along the lines of
Email, acoustic mail
E-sports, acoustic sports
Personally I don't find any interest in ebike articles but I do think there is a place for them in the magazine, off road bike riding is a broad church.
I enjoyed the thought-provoking Jamie Hibbard article. I've not read all the rest yet.
I like the ebike articles, I'm not interested in buying one (yet), but it's quite nice to keep up with what's out there. If I was going to get one, I'd probably go for one of the lighter variants eg like the Orbea which was reviewed.

+1
As Hannah says, we're looking at the print issue on this one - my copy was also very dark. Not helped by the gloomy day we had at BikePark Wales, but we're going to have a word with the printers to make sure that anything too dark gets flagged up. It might even be a legacy issue as we've previously had images be a bit too light and I know there's been a note on our file to make sure that our blacks are 'extra black.' We're on it!
As for the bike review subjects, we try to have a good spread of bike test topics and prices over the year and not everyone will like everything we review, that's just one of the issues of having a print magazine - you have to pick a topic and stick at it, especially as at the moment it can be hard to get three remotely similar bikes in at the same time to review. The same is true of feature topics - for every 'cycling hobo, sleeping in a bag' feature that one reader dislikes, another will find inspirational. For every aspirational foreign feature we run, one reader will add that to their bucket list and one reader will complain that they only ever ride in the UK, so that's all we should feature. Hopefully each issue will have a reasonable balance of the bikepack vs enduro (and even both together!) and big bikes vs smaller travel bikes, foreign vs British rides and so on. I realise that we'll never have an issue that's perfect for every reader, but hopefully there's enough in each to keep you interested and entertained.
Have to say I didn't notice the dark images thing when I was reading it, maybe as the weather is a bit gloomy right now, so it just fitted in...

Ah come on, that's nonsense.
Don't pretend to be something you aren't.
