I had my booster on Tuesday night. Today my elbow (same arm) is leaking / feels wet. Wife has confirmed it feels wet and clammy so can’t be my imagination. Any ideas ? Don’t want to bother NHS if it is a common side effect as I understand they have there hands full atm

Thanks

Ianad but is the injection wound weeping and fluid going with gravity to the elbow?

Not sure they have qualified Audi driving IT middle managers?

Well I suppose blaming your booster jab is one way of explaining carpet burns to your significant other.

Is the elbow just wet, or is it actually leaking from, like, a hole??

Is there a 'gaelic shrug' emoji I can use?

At least yours is leaking out before it does that.

Do you have a cat or know someone who has one?

Fashion some shoes for it (the cat, not your arm, that would be silly).

That should take your mind of your moist appendage.

You are welcome

Either post pictures, or go ahead and start a 'What tyres for a leaking elbow...' thread.

Are you entirely sure that's your elbow?
Tell us, does it usually live in your sleeve, or your trouser?

Sounds like something that might happen elsewhere on the body. Can you tell your elbow from your arsehole?

Have you taken a knock to the elbow?
5 years ago I slipped going down some stone steps and clocked my elbow hard. It swelled up and started leaking fluid from a small hole. The lump lasted for some months and could produce fluid whenever squeezed. Mates were highly impressed by this and nicknamed it the Swellbow.
It eventually sorted it's self out and is now a thing of legend.

My fellow training team at work now think I'm an idiot (fair probably) as, not for the first time reading STW, I have deposited my coffee on my laptop!

Irish?

I'm wondering if they invented it and the French took it over to make the Gallic Shrug.

It's Cat Aids and the bad type. You'll not see another Christmas (thanks to my departed FiL for that one). What bikes are we going to squabble over?

Thanks for your responses sorry I haven’t commented yet As I have actually been out riding my bike.

My elbow is wet / clammy there is no sign of any leakage from the injection area.

I guess it is a very serious issue if the Singletrack minds are baffled.

Not sure my bikes are viable proposition once all the repairs needed have been carried out

Has anyone told you that "you don't know your arse from you elbow"? Is it actually a different sort of leakage you're asking about?

Your mates were impressed when you ejaculated liquid from a tumescent body part?

Just pray it's not Bursitis (infection of the protective fluid sack on the elbow), I had that once, I could have cried it was so painful. Also, then going, getting anti-biotics, forgetting to tell the doctor about my mild allergic reaction to pencillin (causes throughfall), THEN walking the national 3 peaks later that week was not my best week. The portaloo at the bottom of Scafell was bad when I arrived, but SO much worse when I left it, I'm sorry to anyone else who ever had to use that portaloo, no amount of high pressure cleaning could have restored it.

The leak could be anywhere, it is just coming out at the elbow. Take it apart and re-tape it, it'll be fine.

Do you need ridiculously expensive bleed kits for this leak? You must have a SRAM elbow yes??

Have you placed your elbow in a puddle without realising?

I've a bearing press to hand, if that might help.

Put your other hand on your hip and put the the leaky arm out to one side with the palm facing down and a slight bend in the offending elbow.
Then slowly tip over in the direction of the leaky arm and you should feel the liquid pouring out.

You probably need to re-tape it in order to prevent fluid leakage past the holes. (or nipples, oh err doctor)

Has this been going on all week or has it just been one day like this? Don't get it on the carpet, could be grounds for divorce

It's classic symptom of the new olecranon variant - we'll all have it by new year

I think the OP has leaked away. Just an empty bag of flesh somewhere with a slightly damp elbow the only evidence of their existence
