Ok..
Should be fairly straightforward..
It's a big in your face tune that sampled the bass line from Don't leave me this way by the communards etc..

There's a huge soul diva talking over it about how good her fella makes her feel
I've got a feeling it's early 90s but could be later.. (could also be an earlier disco house track in fact)
Any ideas?

nah.. still no good.. I've spent the last 2 days on whosampled and shazam going through remixes, cover versions (whosampled is largely a massive waste of time.. my cat could tell you more info on the history and cover versions)

ooh maybe I dunno.. why?

The bit that is stuck in my head is that huge, fat, overly produced bassline.. the soul diva sample is used in a gazillion old house tunes too

I'm trying really hard to forget it now though.. really hard

EDIT: you're right DT Loleatta Holloway - Crash goes love

Yes, but enough about that, do you know what song it is?

so the vocal is Loleatta Holloway - Crash Goes Love
the bass line is an uber fat version of Don't leave me this way

I'm getting the fear that it's an unreleased mashup from some dutty mixtape or live set and that I'll never find it in which case my girlfriend will leave me and my children will starve as I sit utterly obsessed on the internet for the rest of eternity

I'm going out on my bike before I lose the plot

Mmm, the track I was thinking of was Little Louis French Kiss which isn't right but reminds me of the old skool days!

You sure you are thinking of the Communards bassline, didn't Thelma Houstons version have similar bassline? ...that must have had numerous house remixes.

Dont want to widen the search too mcuh, but might be an alternate line of enquiry!
