I've just got a new kitchen sink tap.
The old one had male couplers, the new has '1/2" female compression thread'.
What I need to connect to:
Old (left) and new (right) connectors:
The old and new connectors will screw together.
Do I need to buy these https://www.screwfix.com/p/flomasta-compression-adapting-male-coupler-15mm-x/69358 'COMPRESSION ADAPTING MALE COUPLER 15MM X ½"' to go on the pipe?
Do I also need to buy olives or can I re-use the old ones?
Thanks!
Could you not just buy some different tails for the new tap?
I would put some new push-fit tails on the tap. Remove the olives from the copper pipe and you should have enough room for the couplings. Life’s too short to be grappling with plumbing fittings in the under sink cupboard

Yes that screwfix fitting will work. Use the existing nut and olive without removing them. I usually just use a straight compression coupler. Think of fitting isolating valves instead though.
Perfect thanks all 🙂
(There are already valves on these pipes along a bit so no need to fit more here.)
What could possibly go wrong🙄
I love building/plumbing/electrical threads on STW.
'Belt and braces' as my dad used to say, especially when it's your own kitchen.
10p olive Vs £15,000 kitchen claim🤔
🤣🤣🤣Keeps me in work and honestly, I don't laugh until I'm safely round the corner in the van.
