Looks like Google are really killing Picasa and I can no longer email a photograph directly to Flickr anymore 🙁

I can still export a photograph and attach to gmail and send etc. or just use Flickr direct upload.

What I would like is a very simple email client that can send to flickr, using gmail. But without it trying to sync everything.

Basically send only, not even worried about receive. Only to use with the Flickr Secret Email Address.

Just tricking Picasa into thinking I have an email client. When I sign in with Google Account in Picasa I just get a stack of script errors.

Any thoughts.

PS Thunderbird, almost deleted 32,000 emails had with Gmail. (Might of be a good thing in hindsight 🙂

Apparently mail can be sent from Powershell see here:

Maybe you could automate it a bit using a script?

I haven't done it myself, but I have done equivalent things from Linux using a terminal based mail client.

Thanks for the suggestions. Tried Thunderbird again and dumped all the IMAP bits and left outgoing only and this seems to work quite nicely.

Bit space hungry just to send emails out for Picasa only, but hey Picasa is tops ! IMO.

Thanks again.

PS This looked spot on...but dont work with Gmail. Well I cant get it working any way. Its 22k in size and would of be a top solution.

Nice idea but it was written in 2001.  SMTPS (secure SMTP email over SSL/TLS) wasn't widespread back then so I'd assume it's not a feature of QM, whereas nowadays it's required (for Gmail at least).
