Its started! Quick... get yourself to the shops and stock up with the essentials!!! Bread, milk, sausage rolls, pepperami's and cheesy wotsits!

[img] [/img]

Or sit back and hope its 'proper' snow so we can all go sledging and building snowmen at the weekend! 😀

No doubt people up on the EK Massiv will have blizzards and polar bears eating children but down in Glasgow its just a bit of slush

11C and no wind, bit of drizzle, no bins blown over but the neighbors car is parked at a jaunty angle.

South Coast, 8)

Side roads with a covering in Milngavie. Snowing heavily right now. Local main roads were distinctly ungritted coming home from work at 4am Always good getting home before the snow. Numerous crashes across the country in the morning rush hour according to Radio Scotland.

The evening commute along the a77 cycle path really will be fun, cycling in fresh snow is great. Hope you've packed the snow socks Iain 🙂

Consider yourself lucky you don't need to enter North Lanarkshire at any point.

Same weather, considerably more incompetent council.

Every time it snows it's the same. Crossing the border from any neighbouring authority into NL is like entering Mordor. 🙁

Nah. It was merely a comparison between the two.

One's a dismal, depressing wasteland populated by evil , subhuman monsters who speak a strange, guttural language.

The other one is Mordor, which has less snow and more opportunity for mountain biking

WET, COLD N WET.....

Wetter than an Otters Pocket etc.

Raining so hard my weather station rain gauge has broken and reads 0mm even though it's ankle deep out side. This could be due to spider webs or bird poo in the collector.

Joe Cocker usually pops round and clears our drive.

Love an evening with Joe, talking about kites and getting him to do his Broski Beat covers.

Not seen him for a bit, can't wait.
He should be on the phone anytime now.

I have some bad news.

Joe Cocker has been stuck in traffic due to a rogue snowflake landing on the M11.

The army has been called.

It was snowing in Birmingham when I left the Nec earlier, it gradually turned to rain as I headed back down south though.

Probably be the only snow I see all year 😆

Woke up at 6am in Chesterfield with no snow. Left the house at 6:45 with a light sprinkling of snow. Got a but slushy and slow on the A61 (Dronfield bypass) but now in Sheffield city centre and it's just wet rain.

Just had to chisel Mrs M's car windows free of ice. This is apparently a blue job. Light smattering over the Downs but crowborough and Tunbridge Wells have 4-5 inches.

Any snow that isn't on grass has turned to ice. Very bloody slippy ice at that.
My ice tyres would have been better than my Fatty today.

I have had to scrape the car windows, the snow came, went, left nothing but abject misery and dispare.
😆

But what is all this commotion about storm surges and hurricane winds on the East Coast ?? Watching the news would have you believe the end of days is imminent..

Dumped fast and heavy in Haselmere and down to Liphook last night.
Didn't stick around though south of the tunnel.
About 2cm frozen solid everywhere this morning.

We were laughing at the BBC news people, out in big coats showing 'snowmageddon' with appropriate wordage of doom...and in the background you could see the grass through the snow. The only clips of *real* snow were Drumochter and Blair Atholl roads....

well I've had a great morning 😐 coming down a small hill, bout 5mph, qeueing traffic, snow falling and snow on the ground, applied the brakes gently, the car didn't stop and slow motion wallop into the fabia in front. My car is a 6 month old Octavia lease car, now with a smashed in headlight, wing, bumper and bonnet. Nice one. Fortunately the excess is just £150 and insurers are Aviva who are usually fantastic. No doubt I will fell the pinch around renewal. It's my birthday weekend as well. 😐 oh well, Happy Birthday.

Booooo! Bad luck Jekkyl, you won't be on your own today, saw a lot of blue lights this morning, and a fair few cars blocking side roads.

Hopefully they'll be gently on you, I pranged our lease car last summer just after renewal, it's hard holding my breath for 11 months.

I watched the news last night. They just said there was some snow and there might be flooding. Nothing apocalyptic.

It's almost as if people exaggerate the news reports in their own heads, just so they can tear these imagined exaggerations down for their own satistfaction. Odd.

Bit disappointing in East Yorkshire this morning.
I've been promised minimum 10cm by the media all week, all we got was about 1cm.

Still made for an interesting drive to work on the back roads! 😯
Probably all gone from the roads by now though.

Bit disappointing in Surrey - only got 2 inches. All frozen this morning so not pleasant to get about, walked son to school holding his hand as a struggle to stay upright. Only a few kids seem to have turned up - including the kids from a family we pass on the way over who were playing in the garden rather than going in.

Stupider rather than braver I'd say. I was banking on it turning to rain or stopping based on the Beeb's forecast but it didn't and there's no bail outs on my route.

I did think about tapping on the window of a couple of vans and asking if they'd got room, but didn't fancy my chances.
