I is dissapoint in Edinburgh.
No doubt people up on the EK Massiv will have blizzards and polar bears eating children but down in Glasgow its just a bit of slush

Yep 🙂
was gridlocked for the first few miles coming down the hill to town...
11C and no wind, bit of drizzle, no bins blown over but the neighbors car is parked at a jaunty angle.
South Coast, 8)

Side roads with a covering in Milngavie. Snowing heavily right now. Local main roads were distinctly ungritted coming home from work at 4am Always good getting home before the snow. Numerous crashes across the country in the morning rush hour according to Radio Scotland.
^^^^^ aye, the evening commute back up the M77 and GSO might be fun 😯
been raining heavily in devon all morning but the temperature has dropped like a stone in the last hour. just have to see if it drops far enough.

The evening commute along the a77 cycle path really will be fun, cycling in fresh snow is great. Hope you've packed the snow socks Iain 🙂
Just cold and wet in the SE. Would love a snowy ride this weekend (with caveat that have early morning trip with mini thm2 to Gatwick v early on Sat)

Consider yourself lucky you don't need to enter North Lanarkshire at any point.
Same weather, considerably more incompetent council.
Every time it snows it's the same. Crossing the border from any neighbouring authority into NL is like entering Mordor. 🙁
You mean that, after all this time, there really has been a Mordor?

living in EK I think that most days of my life perchy .... 🙂
You mean that, after all this time, there really has been a Mordor?
Nah. It was merely a comparison between the two.
One's a dismal, depressing wasteland populated by evil , subhuman monsters who speak a strange, guttural language.
The other one is Mordor, which has less snow and more opportunity for mountain biking
🙂

AKA The Buckfast Triangle.

i got it SR 🙂
^^^^ me to but I don't like to encourage him 🙂
^^^^^^ Me three, but I couldn't think of a suitable Taggart gag.
didn't know there were so many shire dwellers on here.
happily im not going to my hoose the night, so can avoid the 77 altogether
Snow in Woking - not settling.
I had missed that DK - wet snow now
WET, COLD N WET.....
Wetter than an Otters Pocket etc.
Raining so hard my weather station rain gauge has broken and reads 0mm even though it's ankle deep out side. This could be due to spider webs or bird poo in the collector.
It's boring in Sussex, raining, but not even cold!

Snow in Woking - not settling.
Now settling. Still wouldn't go riding in it though. Wet snow on sloppy ground.
Finally started snowing in London, not settling though! 🙂
Getting q thick now. Bloody freezing putting salt down and getting logs in. Big fire going now.
Hopefully sun tomorrow and a slidey ride
Why are we so useless at dealing with snow!!,

Because of the Tories.

Melting already. Possibly raining again now.
Done for another year.
Snowing quite a lot in North Kent.
Mtb ride was fun.
Our annual 20 minute snowstorm on the South Downs. We even threw a snowball.

Why are we so useless at dealing with snow!!
Joe Cocker usually pops round and clears our drive.
Love an evening with Joe, talking about kites and getting him to do his Broski Beat covers.
Not seen him for a bit, can't wait.
He should be on the phone anytime now.

I have some bad news.
Joe Cocker has been stuck in traffic due to a rogue snowflake landing on the M11.
The army has been called.
It was snowing in Birmingham when I left the Nec earlier, it gradually turned to rain as I headed back down south though.
Probably be the only snow I see all year 😆
No precipitation whatsoever in Baildon. Clear skies and a full moon. Going to get cold though
Woke up at 6am in Chesterfield with no snow. Left the house at 6:45 with a light sprinkling of snow. Got a but slushy and slow on the A61 (Dronfield bypass) but now in Sheffield city centre and it's just wet rain.
Where's this snowverdose we've been promised. There's a bit here in Macclesfield, but nothing major. Wanted to go sledging as I have the day off 🙁
Just had to chisel Mrs M's car windows free of ice. This is apparently a blue job. Light smattering over the Downs but crowborough and Tunbridge Wells have 4-5 inches.
Snowmagedon here this morning 🙂
Well a good 5 cm anyway and blowing a hoolie. Better get a few more bales out to the poor sheep.
Windy and snowing in Helsinki last night, calm this morning.
Arf! my colleagues have been told to work from home today 😆
I cycled in and missed the message. 😕
Falling where, but won't settle.
Anything in High Wycombe?
Only 2cm for me in Fife this morning.
Cold though, so it may stick around into tomorrow 🙁
Any snow that isn't on grass has turned to ice. Very bloody slippy ice at that.
My ice tyres would have been better than my Fatty today.
Light dusting barely covering the grass here in Stourbridge, clouds are nice and pink but flying over too quickly
I have had to scrape the car windows, the snow came, went, left nothing but abject misery and dispare.
😆
But what is all this commotion about storm surges and hurricane winds on the East Coast ?? Watching the news would have you believe the end of days is imminent..
Snow in Cambridge!!!
No, wait, it's stopped.
Hang on, just saw _another_ flake fall. Yay! SNOW IN CAMBRIDGE!!!!
Hang on, it's stopped again. As you were.
Dumped fast and heavy in Haselmere and down to Liphook last night.
Didn't stick around though south of the tunnel.
About 2cm frozen solid everywhere this morning.
We were laughing at the BBC news people, out in big coats showing 'snowmageddon' with appropriate wordage of doom...and in the background you could see the grass through the snow. The only clips of *real* snow were Drumochter and Blair Atholl roads....
I must have had a hundred met office weather alerts for snow or ice in the new forest and forest this week. Nothing. Not even that icy.
No snow here and blue sky 🙂
Severnside....but then I'm almost just below sealevel.
They should have me on commission for those reports.matt_outandabout - Member

BBC Forecast said it was all done so I rode the 20 miles into work.

They lied.

They bloody should...
"*And now, we go live to an upstairs bedroom in Aviemore, where Colin will show us the view...."
"*And now, we go live to an upstairs bedroom in Aviemore, where Colin will show us the view...."
This wins the prize for most disturbing sentence of the week.
"Colin, we can see your reflection in the window"
Or in your case
"Colin, can we see your reflection in the window"?
Taps aff weather.
A few cm in Saltburn, sadly it's melting away rapidly so spoiling my planned handbrake turn session.
I don't need to see any reflection *Zooms telephoto lens in
well I've had a great morning 😐 coming down a small hill, bout 5mph, qeueing traffic, snow falling and snow on the ground, applied the brakes gently, the car didn't stop and slow motion wallop into the fabia in front. My car is a 6 month old Octavia lease car, now with a smashed in headlight, wing, bumper and bonnet. Nice one. Fortunately the excess is just £150 and insurers are Aviva who are usually fantastic. No doubt I will fell the pinch around renewal. It's my birthday weekend as well. 😐 oh well, Happy Birthday.
Desperate to get out for a snowy ride - but my pump has gone awol!!! 😳
Booooo! Bad luck Jekkyl, you won't be on your own today, saw a lot of blue lights this morning, and a fair few cars blocking side roads.
Hopefully they'll be gently on you, I pranged our lease car last summer just after renewal, it's hard holding my breath for 11 months.
Seems Aviemore is the only place with snow.

Watching the news would have you believe the end of days is imminent..
I watched the news last night. They just said there was some snow and there might be flooding. Nothing apocalyptic.
It's almost as if people exaggerate the news reports in their own heads, just so they can tear these imagined exaggerations down for their own satistfaction. Odd.
thanks Prawny, did you do your normal 20 cycle commute this morning & how was it?
edit: just saw your pics above. You cycled in? braver man than me.
Bit disappointing in East Yorkshire this morning.
I've been promised minimum 10cm by the media all week, all we got was about 1cm.
Still made for an interesting drive to work on the back roads! 😯
Probably all gone from the roads by now though.
I watched the news reports last night and they were talking of huge floods, heavy snow storms but as usual nothing happened.
Bit disappointing in Surrey - only got 2 inches. All frozen this morning so not pleasant to get about, walked son to school holding his hand as a struggle to stay upright. Only a few kids seem to have turned up - including the kids from a family we pass on the way over who were playing in the garden rather than going in.
Brighton here. It's snow good. 🙁

Stupider rather than braver I'd say. I was banking on it turning to rain or stopping based on the Beeb's forecast but it didn't and there's no bail outs on my route.
I did think about tapping on the window of a couple of vans and asking if they'd got room, but didn't fancy my chances.
Seems Aviemore is the only place with snow.
As does Dunblane, and a dusting at Stirling Uni, but we just don't shout about it like some... 😉
A dusting isn't snow. 😀
Falling where, but won't settle.
All I can say Jamie, is Pot, meet Kettle....
