Is the sound meant to be this muffled?
I have the volume turned up to near max and I can barely hear a word they are saying. Purchased on itunes so not a dodgy copy. I am only 10 mins in and am ready to give up on it already, is it worth downloading it again to see if it is different second time over?
Background sounds all seem normal it is just the dialogue that is barely audible.
there did seem to be a bit of "quiet talking" when i watched it on DVD, i thought it was the same with a lot of films lately where the mix seems to boost the gunfire and music for some daft reason
Starting to feel like a bit of a "magicians trick" forced intensity to just hear the dialogue, to give the impression of concentration on the actual script.
I saw it at the cinema and I wasn't really conscious of a problem with the sound.
I watched it on a long haul flight somewhere and didn't notice a problem with the sound. Quite enjoyed it.
Filmmakers are pushing the dynamic range too much these days.
Do you have normalise feature on playback? Failing that subtitles ... It really is fantastic film.
I also found the dialogue to be mixed right down. I resorted to using headphones in the end.
I fell asleep
I did watch a dodgy copy on headphones. Seemed fine.
Quality film i though - Benito Del Torro was awesome!
I watched it in economy class with airline headphones - no probs. Worth persevering with, though, tense film.
I have tried twice and fell asleep both times. I was enjoying it but not sure I can be bothered for a third time.
Watched it streamed from Talk Talk TV (Blinkbox). Audio mix was terrible, have found this with a few streamed films. It may be that they are mastered for consumption on headphones rather than TV
Watched on my iPad on the train yesterday nae bother. Was wearing headphones though.
Enjoyed it.
Found it totally gripping at the cinema. After 45 minutes I realised I'd been clenching my jaw since the start.
Didn't have any audio issues. Interesting that dynamic range in film has gone so far the over way from music.
