Just fitted a new bath and now need to get a new shower screen - the old was too small (1300x800mm). Larger ones (1400x1000mm) seem be made up of smaller hinged sections.
Is it better to have just 2 sections or more? Does more hinges just mean more cleaning and more things to go wrong?
We have a large two panel. The first panel at the tap end is fixed and the second is a moveable flap.
I find it better than the multi flap ones as those always seem to leak or drip where they are not properly extended. Downside is the fixed panel but that doesn't seem to be a proble
Yeah, we got a 4 pane 3 fold screen. Looks really nice and folds away neatly so we can both get in the bath without someone being imprisoned.
As a shower screen though, its Crap!!. Leaks so much that we got it replaced under guarantee. Unfortunately our plumbers gave us the same one again without checking with us first, so we still have issues with it.
We have to have the middle 2 section open slightly so they don't piss all over the floor.
Plus as a long term benefit water (because of its amazing properties) finds its way inside the door frame and limescale grows which forces the whole thing apart... so its gradually self destructing and leaks only get worse.
It does look nice though
If you can get to Leeds, Teef, for bizarre reasons I've got a plethora of shower screen solutions in my spare room!
One of which is a massive bugger- 1520 x 890 and many mm thick (it's heavy!); Wavy top and seriously impressive construction. It cost £385 new although I paid less than that in a clearance sale. You can have it for £100 if any use.
I've also got an outtasight foldaway shower screen, which is 1425x1425, but where I've fitted the batons in bathroom, means it won't get a proper fixing (twit!), so again, unused and up for grabs. It's very smart and gets lots of good review.
Would like £150 for that. http://www.outasight-vb.com/over-bath-screen/
