I've been recommended to look at these for my upcoming bathroom refit.

I'm not fussed on having a blingy bathroom and the easy-cleaning aspect is rather appealing.

Tell me about yours.

Stayed in Air BnBs with them, at this time of year I'm not so keen on the blast of cold air when you open the door!

Do you mean an outdoors pod?

I was thinking of the pre-made cubicles that go in your bathroom instead of the traditional tiling, frame, tray & shower unit.

No, indoorsy ones - less bad, of course, if the bathroom is warm when you step in, but it'll still be cooler than the shower cubicle. It's not a show-stopper, I'm just a wuss about the cold. 🙂

I fitted one for a customer. Their only benefit as far as I can see is the saving of time and materials in their installation. Clear a space, whack in some plastic pipes, shuffle it in, level it up, job done.

What in particular appeals - the absolute p.i.t.a of building the thing from piece, difficulty getting spares when some plastic clip holding them together breaks, the small size inside, the flexy floor or the dust and muck accumulating underneath. Fitted and owned a few 🙂

I’ve ripped a few out for customers to put proper showers in. Not a fan. As mentioned above, pain to build, pain to maintain and solve no real problems.

Are they like those walk in baths for old people?
