Mmm sounds a bit extreme, better to just point and laugh.

i respect other peoples right to believe in what they like even if I disagree with it - the moral high ground above religion...

I'm sure people would find other reasons to disagree and kill each other.

Banning it sounds a bit extreme.

How about we start by putting gold stars on every one who's religious and see where we go from there.

Genuine question, has there actually been a successful culture without religion? It does seem to have developed fairly independently in all the major civilisations.

+1

look at history. almost each time a religion is banned it gains in popularity.

Of course not; but everyone should be comfortable treating it and its foolish followers with the contempt it/they deserve.

(nice troll, by the way)

i read an interesting book recently, "why the west rules, for now".

it started off around the time of the domestication of crops, both in the middle east (fertile cresent) and china. although domestication occured at different times (a few thousand years earlier in the west than the east) within a relatively short space of time each communtiy had created its own religious activities, each mirroring strongly the other.

Closing this thread - which seems like a thinly veiled trolling exercise.

There's bikes to be ridden!
