At first it was mildly amusing to see people's tearing chunks out of the winning losing side, quite frankly it's made the forum absolutely boring , shown who is a real tit about certain things and generally destroyed good faith in some people.

Is it time to close these threads and just go back to how it used to be.

I'd ban posting chat threads in the bike forum.

It's not like it's the most important decision the people of this country have been able to make.

I think there is an argument for creating a political forum which people can chose to ignore.

That would make things a whole lot less toxic.

If the drop down box for post in chat / bike forum did not have a default choice and forced the poster to select the problem of threads in wrong forum would massively reduce.

If only there was some way to be able to avoid reading threads you're not interested in.

I don't know, like maybe, not reading them. 🙄

The only threads that annoy me are the 'hate' threads, thinly veiled by an amusing title. There's about one a week at the minute. You know, where people list who they'd like to punch, throw off a cliff, etc

I don't even look at any posts that mention Brexit.

DOH!

It must be wonderful to have that kind of self control. I can no more resist reading a thread I know will annoy me than I could ignore a red button in my lounge with "don't press" written on it.
