To start, this is purely for iTunes management and a few pics, I use my iPad for most things, and was gonna swap the hdd is n my laptop for an sad, because the hdd is on the way out, but now I've been offered an old Mac, which looks very nice with its fancy keyboard and mouse, it's running snow leopard and I think that's the newest iOS it will run, what do you think?
An SSD and a fresh install of windows will make a big difference.. I'd guess that's also the cheaper option.. And what I'd do depending on the condition and ergonomics of your current laptop.
Only downside I can see is Apples regular updates to iTunes. Sooner or later either the Mac or the phone/tablet become incompatible as the Mac can't update to the latest version.
An 07 Mac will likely still run pretty well. It won't be lightning quick but a lot faster than a PC of that age. An SSD will make a big difference to the Mac as well. It's a 9 year old machine though

My guess is Mac too old to run latest OSX and perhaps iTunes ?
What sort of Mac exactly ? I have a late 2009 Mac Mini (RAM and HDD upgraded) and it runs all the latest software very well. 2007 depends on exact model. A SSD should cost only £75-ish and may well be the best option vs Mac
