Good (sunny) morning all

Have fancied dabbling in shortwave radio for a while now (listening - not full on Ham stuff).

Anyone else dabble? Any recommendations for a cheapish received (say no more than £50) and any required reading?

Also, any other kit (happy to build a suitable aerial for example - any links to guides would be appreciated).

Cheers

Danny B

Hi Dan

Yep, still up in Hillsborough. Not done a great deal of riding over the last couple of years - illness and major surgery got in the way!

Bought a mountain bike and getting fit again and looking to get the Wilson back on the road (possibly today seeing as its so nice!).

Don't know what I want to listen to at this stage. Just interested in it (always have been) so looking to get a basic kit to see if I get into it at all.

Good to hear the wheel is still turning!

Cheers

Danny B

Used to be my hobby many years ago.. collected around 500 QSL cards from all over the world, highlight was a card from Radio Grenada.. and waiting 2 years for one from Radio Tirana/ Albania.

Not sure about the £50 mark, but do remember it wasnt all about the receiver but more for a good aerial set up and patience.

Good luck though
