Looking for a recommendation from experience for glue to re-bond a flappy sole to the upper for my winter walking boots. Google brings back loads of standard looking super glues, one of which I've tried (Evo Stick High Impact) but its not looking convincing.
Thanks
Shoe Goo
Shoe Goo. Been using it for decades! I wouldn’t trust a rebonded sole in the boonies mind you but fine for local use.
+1 shoe goo,a bit pricey and a nightmare to get off your fingers! can be used repair some smaller holes in tubeless.
All my shoes / boots are held together with Stormsure. Works well on tears in GTX jackets as well.
Aquasure or Stormsure or ShoeGoo
I had a pair of trainers that has started to fail, was walking past a Timpsons and went in to ask if they sold suitable glue. My shoe had been removed, glued and was back on my foot about 2 minutes later - and he refused to take any money for it.
Shoe Goo, but not if you're in California

Amazing business, run very pro-staff and employs a lot of ex-cons.
I had surprisingly good results using some high quality silicone sealant in a pair of spd shoes where the sole had come away. lasted 18 months
When I was searching for this, I came across something called ‘Klebfest’ which is cheap, very strong and I think it can make you high if you inhale it. EBay.
Gorilla Glue here.
Big fan of Aquasure here (used to be called Freesole?). Good Poluyurethan stuff. Was much better than ShoeGoo.
High impact isn't a super glue. It's an impact adhesive and should do the job fine if prepped correctly. A pain to prep right though. Used industrial super glue (recommended by a guy at work) for my outdoor shoes. Worked fine so far 2 years later.
I've tried shoe goo and it just seems to come unstuck/peel off after a short while.
I cut a brand new pair of Goretex boots a couple of weeks back and someone recommended Stormsure glue.
Its sticking like shit to a blanket so far.
Thanks all. Plumped for Storm Sure based on Stu's comments (ok it was cheaper too).
Will any of these glues be any good for patching holes in the soles of 510s? There must be something I can just stick to the bottom of them? Maybe a block of wood or piece of old tyre perhaps?
Timely thread, I’ve just bought some Timberland boots and after 3 uses one of the soles is coming away.
Bought from Timberland website for £45. They said I can return but would then have to buy a new pair at full retail of £125
So glueing it is - and not buying Timberland again…. Even if cheap!
Stormsure is ace. I just glued an escapee sole back onto my wife's Meindle walking boots. Why do Meindle always fall to bits after a few years...?
I used Gorilla glue a few years ago to glue the SPD receiving plate back into the sole of a touring shoe. The shoe eventually wore out, the glue did not.
So either are good IME.

You'll need to glue something rubber to act as the patch eg bit of old tyre / inner tube etc. Stormsure etc are flexible when set, so good for repairing shoes, but the glue itself isn't hard wearing like the sole of a shoe.
