it’s in Falmouth I’m in Surrey and can’t figure the best way to ship it.

Any ideas gratefully received it’s 14 feet long and heavy!

otherwise it’s a long drive and the roof bars

One of those freight bidding sites, where carriers bid for the jobs.

Forget the names sorry.

Pretty sure Paisley freight used to take boats too.

I had a 17ft racing kayak delivered all the way from Hungary - it was wrapped in plastic and suspended inside the roof of a taught-liner truck.

That could be a bit of an Oar deal!

I've done it three times.

I used Paisley Frieght once but it was only a 7footer

I got three open boats moved once for a trip - Some one sorted it, they went by ice road truckers (Inuvik-Hay river) there wasn't enough drama for it to make it on to TV.

Final time I drove with it on my roof but I linked it in with other plans.

I'd rather ship a canoe than a Gnu.

Of absolutely no use at all, granted, but it reads well.  I think.

Got to be easier than canoeing a ship.

Talk to your local haulage companies see if any of them are going to Falmouth and want a back load .

You need deep pockets to ship a canoe and you'd leave a string of disappointed people who thought you were pleased to see them behind you.

Try anyvan.com

I had a motorbike collected by them. It was a good price and the bloke really careful with it.

Once sold a sea Kayak on e-bay and went 50/50 with the buyer  who was in Scotland  and me in west Wales using local courier who passed it on to another courier in Liverpool.

Wrapped in roll of bubble wrap n lots of Gaffa tape.

Print up a 'while you were out card' and post it to yourself saying that an attempt was made deliver but  because you were out you're now you're going to have to collect it from the sorting office. The sorting office is in Falmouth.

Could you wait until one of your mates is on holiday in Cornwall? Or one of his is on holiday in Surrey?

I have seen someone at Stirling station put one in the overhead luggage rack on a train, one of the short open deck ones. When you think how much hassle it is to get a bike into a train....
