Im off to Shilbottle near Alnwick for a few days with my bike and am keen to do some riding when there - anyone know any decent routes in that area - more singletrack than forest track... cheers

Thrunton Woods off the A697 just south of the Bridge of Aln cross roads would be my first suggestion. Not been for a while but there is a web page for the map

After that there is some stuff up in the Cheviots too.

Yep thrunton is ace. Also check out the coquet valley and simonside. A lot of thrunton is hidden trails.

Take a black marker and do what everyone does while in shilbottle & alter the local signage. It's so funny, the locals love it. No, really!

You're not coming to my wedding are you?

From the doorstop there is some from here but it's not very exciting.

If you have Transport then head to Rothbury for Simonside and the Carriagedrive routes or up into Alwinton maybe Ingram for big hilly rides. Don't think I have any links to routes anymore sorry.

I'll have a look tonight when I get home.
