I have a small shaft that needs building up where it has worn under an oil seal and seized bearing. 20mm dia shaft and about 15mm length needs building up by about 1mm. I can machine it back. Anyone know anyone in Sheffield who could do this?
Cheers!

Is brass going to be durable enough? For crankshaft repair, usually it’s a weld and re grind job - so maybe some sort of automotive specialist?

I do a bit of brazing & have a workshop up off Norfolk Park, drop me a line and I'll see what I can do.

Cheers all, and thanks for the offer podge. I knocked up a brass sleeve on the lathe so will see how that fares for now. The shaft is from a pillar drill so it's not going to be seeing masses of use, and a slow oil leak will just lubricate the quill...
